Thought there were 2 big phillips head screws that held the handle on,from the bottom,also ,check the wiring inside the rubber boot,between the door and the body,just slit it with a razor blade,wires tend to break in there.

i believe after you remove the door panel you can access the inner door handle and remove it from the door shell

Rear pass window motor is available at any good parts store. Go to dealer with the vin for the drivers door weather seal.

CHECK FOR BROKEN WIRES BETWEEN DOOR AND DOOR POST..THERE WILL BE A RUBBER BOOT IN BETWEEN DOOR..WIRES TEND TO GET BROKEN IN THESE FROM DOORS OPENING AND CLOSING..THIS WHERE I WOULD START LOOKING

replace the relay for the door ajar switch
it is a notorious faulty relay that goes bad with all Ford built vehicles

there are two rear exterior door panels for an 06 ION on ebay, possibly is same part, needing only paint to match yours. also look around in the craiglist for your area.

This was a lot easier than I thought. The underside of the door handle itself had cracked, where it grabs the teeth of the opening mechanism. We popped off the old handle, and popped on a replacement. Whammo. Thanks!

you are looking at a automatic door motor. The pulling mechanism is going out but the pulling is just fine for a little bit longer
