I have a 2000 Jaguar S type 4.0 V-8.

For the past 8 months it has had a misfire at 1500 rpm which worsens as the engine gets hot. A mechanic has replaced 6 of the 8 coils. the condition has improved but the miss is still there at 1500 rpm and worsens as it heats up. I have checked the injectors and thay seem ok. I also replaced the O2 sensor after a code appeared. The check engine light is currently not on but has appeared indicating a #7 cylindar misfire.

Another mechanic has told me that the left side catalytic converter needs replacing. I have spent over $1000.00 to fix this problem, but it still exists.

Please help!!

My sincere apologies for the delayed response.
I am personally going back to answer your unanswered questions.
I have only been a free contributor to this site for the past 4-months.

I do not know if you still need this information, but I am going ahead and answering it anyway.

I'm not sure if you have the 2000 Dodge 1500 with the 3.9L (6-Cyl), 5.2L (8-Cyl), and 5.9L (8-Cyl) Engine; however I have included.

For the 3.9L (6-Cyl):
Firing Order:
1-6-5-4-3-2
Cylinders:
(back of engine)
6----------5
4----------3
2----------1
(front of engine)
Distributor:
(+).6...5
1...........4
...2....3..(+)-screw

For the 5.2L AND 5.9L:
Firing Order:
1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
Cylinders:
(back of engine)
8...........7
6...........5
4...........3
2...........1
(front of engine)
Distributor:
.......(back)
.........3
....4........6..(+)
8...............5
(+)1........7
.........2

Again my apologies...
