Car stalled for first time for me after getting it back from mechanic. Why?

JUST got my Stang back after head gasket and intake manifold replacement. Heads were taken out and machined. Engine is ticking until it warms up. But today, I was coasting to a stop sign with clutch disengaged and no foot on gas and it just stalled. Battery light came on. Radio stayed on. I pulled over and it started right back up. No problems since. No check engine light or any other light and battery light went off after restart. Battery gauge and all other gauges normal for this vehicle. I only had 1/8 tank of gas so I added it up to half a tank.

I also had just had the fuel grommet (?) replaced at the same time. Now I have a drippy thing coming from back right fender that looks like snot. Any clues would help.

It is going to mechanic tomorrow. But do cars just sometimes stall once, and not continue to have a problem? Thanks so much!

Experience car stalling i run fuse, full pump ck pumping gas but it will stall, i find out i decided to ck the TPS ,WILL TAKING THE INTAKE MANIFOLD OFF

Hi, sounds like fuel pump. If the pump doesn't deliver enough fuel ,it will stall. Get your mechanic to check it out. If you have knowledge of how an engine and all its components work then go a head with repairs. If you don't know you will get into trouble quick. Good luck

Stalling and running rough - Hyundai Elantra - 2001-05

The Hyundai Elantra 2001 - 2005, 2.0 L engine is noted for this problem. It will lack power on acceleration and run rough and stall while driving. The engine light will come on for misfire codes. This problem is caused by a vaccum leak at the intake manifold gasket. The gasket is broken and needs to be replaced.
To replace the intake gasket with a new one, remove the 12m nuts holding the intake to the cylinder head. Then pry back( note: you do not have to completely remove the intake manifold here) the intake manifold to gain excess to remove the old gasket. Remove any excess gasket and clean with brake cleans the surface area of the intake. Install the new intake gasket on to the head and carefully install intake on to cylinder head studs. Tighten up nuts gradually and evenly to 15-20 ft.lbs.

How can my mechanic fix intermittent idle drop?

Throttle position sensor, or MAS. Mass Airflow Sensor on the air intake (air filter housing) case. Possible vacuum leak. Ensure all vacuum lines are connected and in good condition. The smallest pin hole will make the biggest difference.

2000 chevy venture 3.4l overheating

Have you replaced the intake manifold gaskets? These engines have a history of leaking intake manifold gaskets. Water leaks into the intake and is burned off in the cylinders. If the engine overheats enough times, you will eventually blow the head gaskets.

Start by performing a compression check to make sure you haven't blown the head gaskets. Then make sure the car is really overheating (i.e. check the temperature of the engine with a infrared thermometer (they are cheap at Harbor Freight).

If it is really overheating, and you've really changed everything else, you need to change the intake manifold gaskets. Be sure to get the improved gaskets from the parts store (they have a metal core with rubber coating).

If my intake manifold gaskets are leaking will it allow antifreeze to mix with the oil

intake gasket might cause it if the coolant froze and broke the seal between the head and intake and is leaking directly into the lifter valley

I have a 2000 jimmy with the 4.3 vortec and my oil is like choclate milk which tells me I have bad head gaskets. I was told by a mechanic that it could just be the intake manifold and not the head gasket....

Yes it is possible it could just be the intake manifold and you would have to remove the intake manifold to get to the heads so either way you need to pull the intake off when you do then you will know if it is the intake manifold gaskets by inspecting the gaskets if they are bad then you will not need to pull the heads but if they look ok by visually inspecting them then you will need to go further and pull the heads so not pulling the intake manifold is not an option it has to come off anyway.

2000 bonn. super charge intake manifold gasket help please

the gasket you had replaced was the lower intake manifold? this gasket can leak coolant and cause white smoke to come from the exhaust. the exhaust is actually single with dual outlet at muffler. when an engine is getting coolant into the cylinder it burns and causes white smoke much like steam. if the engine is running rough and has the check engine light on then it sounds like you have either a leaking intake manifold or problems with the cylinder head or heads. head(s) could have a bad gasket or a crack. only way for sure to tell is too remove manifold or head(s). call the repair shop and demand to have it looked at again. also have another totally separate repair shop inspect it to have a second opinion.
