Keeps fowling multiple plugs on average about every 6 months or so. Ranging from a lot of oil/fuel deposits to heavy ash deposits
The coil pack is located on the wiper side of the engine, mounted on the rocker cover with 3 bolts. As they age, cracks form on the casing, allowing moisture and dirt to enter. This causes internal shorts and lead to misfire, causing the fouled plugs.
Remove the wiper cowl to expose it. Replace the coil pack, and replace the cables one at a time.
You might also check your intake plenum! Mine had started sending codes for cylinder misfire, and I found a cracked intake plenum! It is plastic on the 3.8.

Before you do that, check which thermostat it has in it, if it has one that is letting it get too warm or not completely up to temp when the computer think it should be, it would cause this. My 2000 crown vic did the same thing and thats what it was.

this is an easy fix, disconnect the wire harness, then with a 7mm socket pull up the retaining screw (to the right of the coil pack). Once removed, carefully pull up on the coil pack so the entire unit comes straight out. You may have to squeeze a bit around the fuel rail. When installing the new coilpack, be sure to use electric grease to prevent moisture problems. Screw in the retaining screw and reconnect the wire harness. I recently changed mine out due to misfires and "bucking" and the engine is purring! good luck.
