SOURCE: 1997 chevy cavalier Z24 2.4l autotrans. fluid level

Hi losflip,
There is a plug located where the right side axle shaft enters the transmission it is above the pan. To check the fluid level of the transmission the engine must be at operating temp and the vehicle must be level. The must be running and the transmission in park, the plug is then removed and if transmission fluid starts dripping/leaking out it is full. If not transmission fluid should be added till fluid starts leaking from the plug hole, then just reinsert the plug and tighten. Generally this is done with the vehicle on a lift in order to access the plug, you might be able to do this if you have enough room to access the plug remember the vehicle must be level.

I don't think there is a dipstick, instead a small plug on the rear passenger side of the transaxle, fluid should just barely drip out with the car running. (and level)

Ifound where you put transmission fluid in the trans. but i can not find where to or how to check the fluid level it is and auotmatic. 2004 chevy cavalier

There is a small plug (10mm) located in the transmission near where the passenger (right) side drive axle enters the transmission. With the engine warm and at idle, remove the plug and top of the fluid level until the fluid starts to run out the hole.
Not quite user friendly.
Good luck

My clutch pedal went to the floor in my 2003 chevy cavalier

check the clutch fluid level. if its empty, you have a leak, and you have air in the system. if there is no leak, and the fluid level is full, the problem lies in either the clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder.

Can't locate fluid eservoir to add trans fluid

Here how to do it: If you see no signs of leaking from the transmission then the level is probably not low, take it to a transmission shop, transmission repair on this car is not for the DYI.

Ensure that the transaxle case temperature is 70° to 90° F (21° to 32° C). With the engine running, shift transmission through all gears. With engine idling in PARK, remove the check plug from the transmission. If transmission has been overfilled, allow fluid to drain out. If no fluid drains out, add fluid through the TRANS FLUID fill cap under the hood on the driver side in 1 pint (0.5 liter) increments until it slightly flows from the check plug. Reinstall the check plug.

Manual transaxle fill level

There is a fill plug on the side of the trans, fill it to just below that plug hole. Make sure you use the correct fluid, consult the dealer for that info.
