1) Open trunk
2) Remove small round plastic access panel with a flat tip screw driver by prying open
3) Remove flat tip screw holding tail light assembly
4) Remove tail light assembly by pulling outward, careful not to break plastic guide/nub
5) Disconnect wiring connectors
6) Remove plastic housing access plate on back of tail light assembly by twisting/turning tabs until they click and then lift access plate from tail light assembly
7) When viewing the the bulbs, the turn signal bulb is the bottom left bulb
8) Install in reverse order, ensuring tail light seal seats properly during installation

SOURCE: Left rear brake light stopped working but bulb and fuses are OK.

take the bulb back out have someone sit in car apply brake get your self a circuit tester and check to see if this circuit is carrying efficient 12 volt current! some times in cold weather these bulbs get hot with long period of breaking and when released condensate and rust begins and you get what you have perhaps bad socket! this would be a ideal location to begin and probably end,

unplug the light. you will find a bit of rust on the + contact. that's the cause. I think it sparks sometimes and the computer shuts down the whole lamp. use a nail file or smooth sandpaper to clean the contact and there you have it... good luck. ;)

SOURCE: Cold Weather causing the Left Rear Brake light to come on

That's the most interesting problem I've heard all week. I'm pretty sure this has to be problem in the switch that operates the light. Are you positive it's the brake light and not just the tail light? Tail light switch is part of the headlight switch. If you're sure it's the brake light, replace the switch under the brake pedal arm, under your dash. I think this is the problem because unless the circuit is engaged at these switches, it's impossible to activate them from anywhere else. Brake switch is easy. You can do it your self. Headlight switch usually involves removing the steering wheel and is kind of a pain but not too overwhelming.

SOURCE: 2005 audi A6 intermittent tail light failure

I can't solve this problem, but have had the entire left tail light unit on a 2005 A6 replaced under warranty 5 times in 3 years. Once it was out of warranty, the dealer kept replacing bulbs and charging me $30 each, but it never solved the problem, even for a day (clearly looking to duck their lifetime guarantee on work they did).

My left turn signal flashes rapidly after applying the break

Check your bulbs sound like one is burnt out, or it is not properly grounded. Good luck.

1991 Nissan Pathfinder left turn signal comes on when I apply the brake

check that all your bulbs are correct and are making contact. this commonly happens when a wrong bulb is installed in a socket. the other reason this happens is a bad ground, and one bulb uses another as a ground path. I would start at the rear left light and check that everything is good there, then move on to the front. 99 percent of these kinds of problems are at the lights themselves.

95 dodge neon brake lights and rear turn signal will not work,

The fast blinking is usually a bulb burned out. Replace the rear bulbs. If this is not the problem , it may be a ground issue, but it really does sound like a bulb issue. Also inspect the light socket while you are there. Look for any bad corrosion Good luck

1996 chevrolet C1500. The back left turning signal/brakes light is not working. Front left turning signal works fine.(Faster than usual). The bulb comes on when the headlights are on(steady), but does not...

The bulb for the turn signal/brake light is a double filament bulb. It will come on with the lights on, but should light the second filament, making it brighter, with the brakes applied or turn signal on. It could just be a bad bulb, but one common problem on these years of truck is the rear light circuit board and requires the whole assembly to be replaced. Start by checking the bulb first though.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

1998 chevy lumina: rear window brake light not working, left brake light not working, rear left turn signal not working

See if bulbs have burnt out in the left brake light and rear turn signal (one bulb if combined) and also rear center high mount brake light.

If the left turn signal has a slower speed than the right turn signal, this is a symptom of a bulb or bulbs burnt out.

Usually, the wiring is not a problem, but I would not rule wiring (or sockets) as a problem out.

Good luck on this repair.

Jaguar xj6 break light cancels signal

Replace the turn signal switch. Bad contact inside causing a crossing of the circuits. When the turn signal is applied it should open the brake light circuit allowing for just the signal to work. Doesn't sound like the switch is doing it's job.

Left Turn Signal Rapidly Blinks

Sounds to me like a bad ground. When the current can't complete through a ground circit it feeds back through the elements ancd can cause all sorts of wierd syptoms.

The fast blink itself can be casued by a burnt out bulb I would check that first.

Then I would check the trailter harness if there is one and unpluch any harness that may be plugged into it. also check each bulb to see if it is seated well. you may be able to see if there is corrorsionaround the bulb terminals at this time is so yo may need to replace the light assembly. Also you could look for any spot where maybe someone in the past tried to tie into the harness to hook up additional lights etc. this may allo moisture in and corroded to the point the wire is "open"

Left rear turn signal and brake light dont work

You have a broken wire to the turn/brake light portion of the light as they use the same wire. Or where the plug goes into the light assy could be bad. Torsion mount lights are horrible and you should think about replacing with a universal light that you can wire direct.
