Strong gas smell inside 2000 bonneville and out not sure where to look

You smell it inside the vehicle with windows up? Maybe a leak with evap system? You could also use a gage and check proper fuel pressure, then with key off, see if pressure holds for a bit. If the pressure drops like a rock, you have a fuel leak, somewhere. You could check vac line on fuel pressure regulator, if there is gas in the line, the regulator is faulty. A fuel injector could be leaking?

Its a 1999 chevy tahoe. Changed fuel pump twice.

Could be the pressure regulator on the fuel rail. Pull the vacuum line off the regulator and check it for fuel contamination. There should not be gas in the line. If there is fuel in that line the regulator is bad and needs replaced.

2000 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi starts and immediately dies; will not run without foot constantly on gas pedal

Well pumping the pedal on a fuel injected car does nothing. If there are no trouble codes stored in the computer, look for excessive fuel from the injectors or the fuel pressure regulator. Or lack of air thru the idle air control valve.

Have a 1999 Pontiac Bonneville using too much gas

it sounds like a bad purge valve. if the diaphram in side it goes bad it will **** fuel into the intake through the vacume line attached to it, check it by removing the vacume line and look for signs of fuel. if its bad it can also fill you charcoal canister with raw fuel

How do I replace the fuel pressure regulator on my 96 pontiac bonneville? Is it something that is recommended for a mechanic, or can I do it myself? Is it causing my car to stall?

Well its easy to check find the regulator on the fuel rair next remove the vacuum line and see if there is any gas in te line if not have some one start the car if the regulator starts leaking gas out its shot. Its a easy repair take the vacuum line off loosen the big nut on the regulator and remove the smaller hold down bolt now becarefull at this point the fuel rair is under hight pressure so put a rag over the regulator or put on some safety glasses and start to wiggle or pry the regulator from the fuel rail. When u get it out match it up to the new one and make sure all the old o rings are removed from th fuel rail put the new one in start the car and check it for leaks.
