No trouble codes, just cant seem to get the evap code to finish checking in with the computer.
Couldnt pass smog because not enough time on computer when I used a tuning program it erases all codes by default, never had any codes except low idle once, fixed bad hose and reset codes. Was using locking gas cap, and tuning program. Went over 650 miles and the evap never finished. Reset computer again and now im running stock programming, stock gas cap, over 75 miles now and the evap still hasnt checked in, im using a cheap code reader and it shows everything thing else has checked in but the evap. The hose I had replaced earlier may go to the evap solenoid in the engine area, and sometimes whe the engine running I hear noise from the hose, seems it may be collapsing on itself from vacuum pressure but only ince in a while, not sure if thats stopping the sensor from finishing.
Im to the point where I may take to my dealer, just so I can get the smog passed, the emissions are perfect just the computer part failed. Im very frustrated and its hard to drive the veichle around to put miles on it because im very busy at work.
If evap is the only monitor that hasn't set yet, the car should still pass, a car is allowed to have 1 monitor that isn't set and still pass as long as the check engine light isn't on. take it in for the emissions, it should pass.

There is a small air leak in the vehicles Evap system. This includes the fuel cap, fuel filler neck, fuel tank, all evap lines and solenoids that could be the problem. Most common are the filler neck where the gas cap goes...sometime you can see small cracks.
All you have been doing is clearing the check light on dash & clearing the obd codes, not diagnosing anything related to the codes or trying to solve the problem
The Evap Monitor will run when ever it should, based on how that is programmed into the vehicles computer,no need to drive 80 miles or any miles
You should have a codes for the Evap Problem, if you stop clearing them & that also has nothing to do with an EGR Issue
Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0446 or P1450 indicates that Self-Test has detected the Evaporative Emission Control System has excessive fuel tank vacuum. Also, a DTC P0446 indicates a vent control malfunction.
Possible causes:
EVAP canister purge outlet tube (EVAP canister purge valve to EVAP canister) blockages or kinks.
EVAP canister tube (fuel tank to EVAP canister) blockages or kinks.
Fuel vapor elbow on EVAP canister contaminated.
Restricted EVAP canister.
Canister vent (CV) solenoid stuck closed (partially or fully).
Plugged or contaminated CV solenoid filter.
EVAP canister purge valve stuck open.
Fuel filler cap stuck closed (no vacuum relief).
VREF circuit open in fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor.
Damaged FTP sensor. (fuel tank pressure)
Check for kinks or bends in the fuel vapor hoses/tubes (EVAP canister purge outlet tube and EVAP canister tube).
Visually inspect EVAP canister inlet port, CV solenoid filter and canister vent hose assembly for contamination or debris.
Check CV solenoid filter for blockage or contamination.
The common things I've seen are are mud in the canister and the canister vent solenoid being shot or the wiring to the canister vent solenoid being torn off. The resistance of the solenoid should be 48-65 ohms..
Pick up a Chiltons book and will give you a diagram of where exactly you find the canister. They are like $15 at any auto store. Good luck
P0446 - Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Control Circuit Malfunction
Evap vent valve has only one purpose. It closes in order to seal the vent so the EVAP system can pressurize and ensure there are no leaks. Evap vent valve is usually supplied Batt. voltage with key on. The ECM's driver controls the ground, and when grounded, activates the valve (closing it). If the ECM detects a short to ground, and open,or a short to battery voltage on the control circuit, P0446 will set. Code also may refer to ECM detecting that EVAP system is unable to achieve or maintain vacuum during test.
Symptoms: There will be no obvious symptoms to driver, other than MIL illumination.
Causes: A code P0446 could mean one or more of the following has happened: * Faulty vent valve * Open, short or excessive resistance on Vent valve control circuit * Blockage of vent valve * Bad PCM
Possible Solutions: With a P0446 OBD-II trouble code, here are some things to try: * Replace Vent valve * Repair open, short, or resistance problem in control circuit * Repair open, or short, or resistance problem in power circuit * Replace PCM
