Sounds like your alternator is not charging your battery. Probably a loose wire, battery cables, alternator wires, or possibly a bad alternator. Check all the wire connections. Check for a loose or bad alternator belt and have the alternator and battery tested.

Sounds like a possible fuel filter. Bigger question - when was last tune up? With the different grades of fuel these days and with temps fluctuating a fuel filter would be my first thing to change.

Temp gauge not working 2004 cadillac cts

It would have to be on a scanner to see if the PCM is sending a signal(most likely is, other gauges working). Instrument panel gauges do go bad. And they can be replaced.

2004 cadillac cts gas gauge stuck reading zero

The reason the guage is staying at empty is because it has set a code for a fuel level sensor. This car has 2 so it could be either one, or a wiring issue (unlikely). When you disconnect the battery, you likely either clear the code or reset it as not current so it allows the gauge to work for a short time until the code sets again. Have it scanned and I am sure you will find a code likely P2066 or P2068 for the level sensors.

Does the car have a normal oil level on the dipstick? The behavior is consistent with a broken timing belt except for the part about the temperature gauge going to the top which would indicate overheating or a faulty gauge.

First the gas, filled it one day and it fell all the way and light turned on, then my themostat, freaked me out, thought i was overheating,...NO just the guage, NOW my spedometer is stuck on 120, and my RPM's are acting crazy. i have read tons with this same problem, WHY WONT the manufacturer DO SOMTHING??

2004 f150 battery light came on the other day. Then all gauges went kinda crazy. Then everything shut down, but was still driveable. Bought new battery but still having problem. Now truck won't even start.

Gauges going crazy like that is caused mostly by a bad battery. Try jump starting... If your truck still won't start even with a jump then there still might be a battery connection problem. Check to make sure cables are clean and tight at both ends...not just on the battery. Also that cables are in good condition. Let me know how you make out and I can assist you further.

Battery goes dead intermittently

Quite often the alarm system ends up being the culprit. If you have, or know someone, who has a clamp on amp gauge that can test the draw from that circuit, it should tell you what you need to know. It could be that or a combination of various draws from your system.
