Where is the ad know located on 2006 Chevrolet equinox?

Sounds like the release rod came off of either the main latch or the inside release handle. My guess would be the latch since I don't see many problems with the inner handles. To check you have to remove the door panel. Follow the rod to the latch area. There should be a plastic type of clip that the rod came off of in the general area of the end of the rod. The rod may just push back into place.

there are 2 ways to do this, use a scan tool ($50 for a basic one) to reset the light, the other is to disconnect the battery for 5-10 minutes, be advised if the problem is not corrected that set the light the light will come back on in about 20 miles, also if the system is not ready u will fail smog, this means they (person doing the smog) know there was a problem.

relays are ether under hood in fuse box or under dash fuse box most cars have a diagram on the cover of said box... they look like a 1"x1" cube they have 4 or 5 prongs or blades on the bottom....

I have repolaced a couple switches on these does yours show power when you cut on but will not engage ? if so probably the set/resume switch on steering wheel

Make sure the doors and trunk,and hood are shut,open them,and shut them .activate the anti theft,wait about 1 minute,and disarm it,see if it will start,if not,the key fob may need to be relearned,try turning the key on,leave it ten minutes,then turn it off,and right back on,then wait ten minutes,and turn it off,and right back on,do this a total of three times,,30 minutes,then try and start.
