Toyota echo is equipped with 5-speed manual transmission and 4-speed automatic transmission. Grading and classification differs in both types of transmissions.
Your car is 14 years old, and should have had the transmission fluid changed several times by now. When was the last time the fluid was changed and the filter replaced?
The speed sensor is located on the outside of the transmission case, it has a wire connector going to it. There are other sensors called turbine speed sensors and they are located inside the transmission. It all depends on what problem you have.
See above chart CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION This sensor detects the rotation speed of the
input turbine. By comparing the input turbine speed signal (NT) and the counter
gear speed sensor signal (NC), the ECM detects the shift timing of the gears and
appropriately controls the engine torque and hydraulic pressure in response to
various conditions, thus performing smooth gear shifting.
First thing to do is check the fluid level if that ok you may want to think about having the transmission filter and fluid changed, there are other possibilities but check these first
