SOURCE: gasoline odor

You'll need to inspect every inch of the fuel system for leaks. I would start in the engine compartment. Chech injectors, fuel rail, lines to rail, etc. Check under car for leaks in lines, around tank. Use you nose to give you an idea where to start. Since it fills the passanger compartment I'm betting on the engine compartment in which the fumes could get in through the heater intake which is close.Look for wet spots. It could also be a leak in the evaporative emissions system which includes charcoal canister, purge system and lines but you'd probably have a check engine light with a problem in those systems. The hotter the vehicle and climate will make the leak harder to find due to evaporation.

SOURCE: 2004 Silverado crew cab has rattle around steering

If you feel this rattle while driving at low speed or turning at low speed it is likely a worn out steering shaft coupler, it is very common.

Wont start

you obviously , have a drain in the system, could be a simple as the glove box light staying on, otherwise, run you car down to the mechanics and ask him just to check your alternator is working, he shouldn't charge you to do that. all the best and good luck

My 1988 ¾ ton Silverado Chevy truck was running fine when I stopped at the post office. When I came out it would not start. This truck usually starts with just the turn of the key (don?t have to give...

Turning fast generally points to a failed timing chain. Check engine compression and that distributor turns without stuttering while it's cranking.
If that checks out, and there is no spark, check the ignition module and wiring on the pickup coil under the plate in the distributor. There is no valid test on module...If everything appears normal, just replace it.

Engine revs and i am only at 35 miles per hour. before this the engine was revving with loss of some power at pedal.

is this car automatic transmissiom or standard,if auto does the transmission fluid look brown and smell burnt, fluid should be red,if it is brown and smells burnt, likely a transmission failure,if car has a standard transmission it sounds like clutch could be slipping,if its a hydraulic actuated clutch, there could be a problem with hydraulics hanging up or the clutch itself is worn out

I have a honda civic 1988 lx 4 doors 1.5:

Try cleaning your idle air control valve. Here is how to:

step one: locate your IACV .It is on the intake manifold near the throttle body,

Step two: remove it, all you need to do is take the 2, 12mm bolts out, disconnect the electrical connection, and your heater lines that run to it. (note put a rag on the heater lines so it doesnt spill everywhere)
Step three: take some brake cleaner or carb cleaner and spray out the screen.

Step four: Let it dry, then reconnect your electrical connection, your heater lines, and your bolts.
Hopefully that should fix it.
