SOURCE: bonnet wont open on reault laguna

There are two release catches about 15" to the right and left of the centre safety catch. Roughly at each end of the top of the radiator.

The bonnet release cable goes first to the right hand one then there is a wire from that to the left, in a daisy chain way. They are typically French, cables fit into plastic levers ( a bit like bike brakes) not metal which break easily. replacements are not cheap. You need to be able to pull the cable to both catches to get the bonnet up. I managed to do this from underneath. In my case the, left hand one was broken and right hand one was working, but the getting it open broke the bit that that pulls the left. Managed to away with buying just one new catch as they are identical, swopping the right partly broken one over to the left side.

SOURCE: how to open the bonnet of a Daewoo Matiz SE

Loo between both light in the long **** shape gap just below where the bonnet is. If you look to the right, you should see a black cable hanging down. If not the it has snapped away, but if you can. Here is what you can to to open the bonnet. Use a long pair of plires and gab the cable. When you have a good grip, pull the cable firmly to the right (passenger side light). This should open the bonnet. It has worked for me....

Hope this helps

SOURCE: VW Bora: Can't open bonnet

first of all not an easy job,you need to get the front grill off and look upwards for a cover that will be covering up the bonnet catch, basicly bend or pull this off,you should then see were the cable goes in,then you should be able to bar the catch with a screwdriver to release it. best of luck

SOURCE: how do i open the bonnet of a 2004 saab 93 when

This is a hard one, you will need to do this from the bottom and the front grille area, its not easy to do but can be opened, you will first need to try and locate a part of the cable thats still connected to latches and try to pull on it to release the hood, if theres not way to do this then you will have to locate the latches and release them this is difficult to do you will need to know what to look for and how to release them.

How to open a bonnet of Peugeot 107 when the release cable is snapped?

Plastic explosives!!!!! LOL

Seriously, I would use an inspection camera to locate the cable that snapped and then grab it with a good pair of vise grips and pull the bejesus out of it. Or check out the latch mechanism and use a cost hanger to get in there and move open the pawl that holds bonnet in place.

Hi my c2 bonnet cable has snapped.

Cut back the sheath around the inner release cable inside the car, and using a good pair of locking pliers (Vise Grips) pull the exposed cable.

If my cable to open the bonnet has snapped how do i open my bonnet

depends on where it snapped.
If it is accessible under the dash, clamp some vice-grips on it and pull.
If it is broken somewhere under the bonnet it gets a lot trickier as you'll need to find a way to trip the latch. Reply as a comment if we need to explore that.

How do I open the bonnet

has the cable snapped if it has its going to be a pig to do if possible and there is access you will have to get under the car and try to get at the bonnet cable pull it by wraping the cable around some pliers or the cable could of just come off the back of the bonnet release lever you will have to do a bit detecting to see where its snapped hopefully it will open if not only other way is to take out the front grill and use a screw driver to pop it open but you will destroy the grill getting at it

To open bonnet on a 04 freelander cable snapped

Depending upon the design of the vehicle, sometimes it is possible to open a latch from underneath using a straightened coathanger and lots of patience. Someone has to press down on the bonnet to relieve spring tension on the latch while work underneath proceeds

This car is a 1.6 16v renault megane, the bonnet release lever does not open the bonnet, the cable appears to have stretched or snapped, how can i get in the bonnet? thanks

hi,
If the cable is snapped in your car, then get underneath the car.Try to reach the catch and flip it manually. If you are unable to reach it with bare hands, a bent metal hanger would help to do it.Now,open the bonnet. You can reach the parts in bonnet now. If you are uncomfortable or unable to do it, please call a "Repair person" in the nearest locality to help you.Have a nice day. Please rate my solution as helpful.

it depends where the cable snapped. it it snapped near the opener just get a vice grip plier grip the cable and pull. the cable passes inside the left fender, just remove the fender liner and you can access it from there. if it snapped near the catch you need to remove the bumper and or grille

Bonnet cable snapped, need advice on how to open bonnet

Most of the time the cable snaps at the release handle. If you remove the handle and get the end of the cable, you can cut off the cable jacket and use needle nose pliers or vise grips to grab the cable and pull to release bonnet.
