Hi.. i can't unlock my Land rover steering locked (Tdi300 pick up) & the key can't turn on too.. please help me to solve this problem, tq..

Be very careful to rock the steering left and right harshly as it would ultimately destroy the pin inside the steering column. Once you've tried that, and it ain't bugging, get ready for stripping steering to the column. Try squirting some oil inside colomn in your key entrance.

Broken shifter cable, how do i repair it

Put park brake on or block wheels, and shift into neutral (if possible), If not go to tranny and pop the cable off the tranny lever (pry off with screwdriver). Turn tranny shift lever, until it clicks twice, leave here for later adjustment. Follow the cable to the adjuster, pull out the flat steel retainer clip, pinch the sides to remove cable from bracket. Remove upper covers below the steering wheel. Remove kick panel below steering colomn. Remove cable from steering wheel shifter assembly (pry off and remove clip same as at tranny). Remove the side kick panel and follow cable along floor. You may find it easier to remove the driver seat (4 nuts on floor and wiring). Pull cable thru floor and replace. Reverse procedure to install. Lock the cable and clip at steering colomn, but leave the clip off at tranny. The tranny should still be in neutral. Now turn key to run and shift the shifter into neutral. At the tranny side cable there is a white square button, press in and lock cable to lever. install retainer clip. move shifter thru ranges and ensure it locks in park. Readjust if needed by pressing button and moving shifter lever on tranny.

Steering wheel moves 1/2 inch to the side

It sounds like the upper steering colomn bowl is loose. The bolts come up from the bottom and hold the lower portion of the steering wheel cover to the upper. The steering shaft runs down thru the middle of both. If loose the steering wheel will rock side to side in the upper bearing race, not holding the shaft tight or straight. Its actually easier to remove the entire steering colomn, turn upside down and tighten. Remove the lower steering shaft at the firewall (mark the spline alignment). Disconnect the electrical connections at the lower colomn. Disconnect shifter (if not floor console shifter). Unbolt from dash and remove the entire colomn, with wheel attached. Flip over and chek the lower bolts for tightness. It can be done from disassembling the colomn, but its a lot of work and lots of little pieces to loose.

My steering wheel is really loose and feels like its going to fall of i thought i need a new steering colomn but i cant find one for my type of car

Hello, the common problem is that the bolt get loose and start falling out. You need to disassemble steering column and remove bolts one at a time and use lock tight when installing the bolts, its takes about two hours to do the work, usually no parts are needed, the engine does not have a timing belt, it uses a timing chain that is oil lubricated.

Thanks
