How do I disconnect the heater to my 2004 Toyota Highlander

The heater won't shut off. I need to disconnect it for now. The dealer wanted $2000 to replace the insides of the panel. Removing the heater fuse also turned off the speedometer, odometer, ac/heater fan, and ac. It's hot.

If your problem is constant heat and you want to turn off the tap off but cannot then find the hoses to and from the heater and simply connect then together. Price --1 connector , 2 hose clips and a bit of time.

The best solution is to get the job done in the appropriate manner according to the manufacturer's recommendation. If you don't want to do it right now, temporarily you can disconnect the hot water line entering into the heater core. Procedure is quite simple. There are two heater pipes which enters into the heater core from the engine through the firewall. Just connect the two pipes together which comes from the engine to restrict the hot water flow into the heater, and similarly connect the two pipes together at the heater core to isolate the heater from hot water line.

SOURCE: 2000 Toyota Camry Panel Lights not working

are all your instrument panel lights dim? i know this sounds silly but i had a person the other day who had the dimmer switch turned down. if it's not that there is a fuse for the instrument panel, looks like it should be a 7.5 amp fuse in the passenger compartment fuse box. it's very unlikely that all of those lamps would fail at the same time. hope that helps.

SOURCE: Toyota Highlander 03, battery light on, alternator

I think you need a new alternator. Also check every fuse in depth. Make sure all the connections are in place and secure.

SOURCE: where is locotated the voltage

the voltage regulator on this along with most newer vehicles is located inside of the alternator. this is not replaceable as it is internal unless you get an alternator rebuild kit. if helpful please leave positive rating.

usually when you loose some fan speeds. it is the heater fan resistor. it has differant size coils for each fan sped. if they fail you loose that fan speed. good-luck !

How do I disconnect heater for 2004 Toyota Highlander?

bypass the heater core. 2 small hoses run from the firewall to different locations on the engine (one should be the thermostat housing. dissconnect one hose from fire wall end, and reconnect it to where the opposite end of the other hose is located, creating a loop that does not include the heater core. The remaining hose (one end still attached to the heater core at the fire wall) should be connected to the opposite connection at the fire wall so it can be re-engaged next winter.

Actual problem seems to be the heat damper valve, which restricts water flow into the heater core, easiest fix is reattach the actuating cable to the valve arm (if this was detached) most costly is replace valve assemble/heater core assembly....

The heater control on my 2001 Toyota Highlander is not working and the nut behind the heater knob is tight. Believe the problem may be the circuit board which I understand can be expensive to replace.

Once the heater control unit is removed then the connections for the knob which probably was loose at one time. There are 3 connections that break off. This is repairable by a skilled solderer as they are very close together. Otherwise it is 500+ from dealer and you don't get the whole unit, so it takes some gentleness to dissassemble that too. You might be able to find a cheaper fixed unit but I don't know of any.

2004 toyota highlander -

Most dealers will not perform this service, as they become the "final stage manufacturer", and what that means is THEY would be responsible for any claims (liability) that may arise from an accident. Toyota does NOT recommend adding seats, nor do they recommend changing seat types (buckets vs bench). Note that the vehicle is designed with the specific seating positions in mind. To add a 3rd row seat, you would also have to install the proper seatbelts, and secure the 3rd row seats in a fashion that meets NHTSA specifications.
In short, and I apologize for this, please refrain from doing it.
