91 chevy pu will not shift

It starts fine and takes off but won't shift.

SOURCE: 91 chevy k 1500 won't shift into reverse. i think

Could be a vacuum issue or the modulator..

The modulator tells it when to shift and is controlled by vacuum presure..
Check all vacuum lines that rum from the tranie for cracks, spits etc..

it could also be a sensor..

1996 chevy 1500 4wd pu. carb. problems. rough start, and takeoff, poor gas mileage, and not shifting. has tbi.

Check the TPS, (throttle position sensor), and the IAC, (idle air control motor), for proper operation. Rebuild TBI unit if necessary. Kits are available aftermarket.

91 Chevy beretta clutch is fine but shifter is loose like the linkage is broken. Do not know where to start looking. Took the console out and got underneath but really do not know what I am looking for....

GENERAL MECHANICS do, Start working around the Shift Handdle by removing the cover (liffting around the rod) you may end up openning 4- 8 bolts to remove the Gear Box upper shaft cover to inspect the shifting fork.

WELL YES YOU CAN PUT THEM ON BUT NEED TO REPLACE THEM WITH WIREING HARNESS AND COMPUTERS AND EXUST SISTEM THATS THE ONLY WAY THEN YOU WILL HAVE PROBLEM GETING IT TO SMOG UNLESS YOU TAKE TO STATE SMOG REFERY

If its an automatic chk. for bad starter switch under dash, if its a standard shift chk. the clutch switch witch is under the dash too.
