WHAT CAUSES METER FUSE TO BLOW ON 2000KIA SPORTAGE

those are known for wire harness rub throughs causing popped fuses. look under the hood for wiring near sharp corners etc

My experience with a kia sportage is that the big fuses are simply inserted to the fuse box located in front of the battery at the engine bay. The plastic holders gets brittle over a span of time and due to the heat inside the engine bay. Most often the fuse loosens up and causes fuse blow out. I had 4 successive fuse blows in 2 months time that i decided to change the whole fuse holder with a new one. It Worked

Have the battery checked first (load tested).

You either have a short in the system or you may be using to small of a fuse. But, NEVER install a 30amp fuse in a circuit that calls for a 10amp fuse from the manufacturer! If you do it may cause a fire!
It would help tremendously if we knew what this 10amp fuse powered. Most fuses are marked as to what they power, if not try the owners manual to figure out what it powers and make sure that it calls for a 10amp fuse with that circuit. Hope this helps

well, blowing fuses is caused by a short, has the vehicle had anything done to it before the fuses started blowing ??? and what fuses are blowing, if it is the main fuses that are 200 amp, then it could be caused by faulty wiring, or bad earth.......trust me if it is the 200 A fuse that is blowing, you will be very happy that it is, because if the manufacturer did not put that fuse there, you would be facing a vehicle fire.....i would trace the fault, or have an auto-electrician diagnose for you

you have a dead short some were or you have bad alternator check alternator first

Most auto parts stores Advance/ Autozone etc will get the diagnostics codes from cars computer and tell you why the light is on and what the problem is if there is a problem.
