SOURCE: O2 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2

That is the O2 sensor right behind the cat. converter. When the cat is clogged it can shoot contaminates in the O2 sensor so sometime just cleaning the sensor will make it work again, if not it will need to be replaced. Mark - ABKS

dunno bout rotating the engine to put those plugs in, but the O2 sensor is right in the way as your arm is stuffed up behind the engine (plugs have to be done from below at the back) so I wouldnt be shocked if you found a disconnected O2 sensor that was never reconnected, or a damaged wiring loom from rough contact with the mechanic's arm. Those plugs are very hard to change so go easy on the guy!

Just maybe your O2 sensors are not operating properly. They may be requiring your engine to heat them up to get upper temperature readings but not lower. You can easily diagnose these and all other sensors and problems by purchasing a Hains manual at your local Auto Zone or Advance auto store which will greatly aide you in diagnosing all your auto needs. And the fault symptom index at the beginning of the book will ease your troubles with professional one on one advice with step by step instructions. Its like having your own ASE certified mechanic at your finger tips. Good luck.

SOURCE: check engine light

I would say that your o2 sensors are faulty either the pre or the post . They must be intermitten so I would replace both

2013 santa fe has P2098 code error. bank 2 oxygen sensor. what is the location of the sensor and how to replace it.

The O2 sensor would be after the cat converter. There are youtube videos on how to replace and you might need a special O2 sensor socket to get the old one off. Also, there have been reports that there could be an update to the ECU that fixes the problem. Might want to call the dealer and see if that's what they are doing for your year car.

Where is O2 oxygen sensor Bank 1 sensor 2 on Pontiac Atzec.

Hi.

The sensor two is the one located after the catalytic converter. While sensor one is always the O2 sensor located on the engine side.

Bankone refer to the sensor located in line with cylinder number one (theone that is sparking first i order). The firing order on Pontiac Atzec is as follows:

on the 4 Cylinder engine : 1-3-4-2

on the 6 Cylider version : 1-6-5-4-3-2,

This means that the cylindernumber one is located on the left hand side.

See the diagram below explaining how to access sensor two. The protective cover is not present on all models:

Note: before replacing the O2 sensor (lambda sensor) ensure that the problem is not wiring or connector.

My 2005 magnum won't start. It turns but just won't start. I get code P2098 P when I scanned it.

P2098 is an O2 sensor code. You need to inspect the connectors where the upper and lower O2 sensors connect. Make sure the wires are not damaged, burned, and that the connectors are not corroded. Once you have inspected those you will need to determine if the sensor(s) need to be replaced. If you found no damage to the wires and/or connectors then you probably need to replace the upper sensor. It is possible that the sensors are telling the electronic module to keep the engine from starting. However, you need to determine if you are getting fore to the spark plugs. If you are not then that is where you need to start with troubleshooting after you correct the O2 sensor issue.

If you mean P2098 read on, Po 2098 is not a vaild code, all codes for OBD2 have one letter (P, B, etc.) and four numbers 0-9.
P2098 VOLKSWAGEN - Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean Bank 2
Possible causes- Low fuel pressure

If its burning fuel and the plugs are black with soot, then its burning rich. the codes you said are P0300 generic misfire and P1153 heated O2 sensor B2 S1, I would first suspect that O2 sensor. Bank 2 is the passenger side (right side) of the engine and doesn`t explain why the left side plugs are black with soot, unless you say the left side by looking at the front of the engine. If this is the case then definitely replace the forward O2 sensor in front of the catalytic converter on the passenger side of the engine.

Need to pass emissions test, dianostic test - Catalyst efficiency blow threshold (bank 1) tried to order part - now I need to know if it pre or post, left or right Oxygen sensor, can it be determined by...

Yes it can be determined by the DTC (Data Trouble code). If the DTC is P0420 (catalyst system efficiency below threshold Bank-1) then the side of the engine with the #1 spark plug and cylinder is always Bank-1, and the O2 sensor that monitors the catalyst efficiency is usually after or (post) of the catalytic converter.

The #1 cylinder is located at the front spark plug on the right or the passenger side of the vehicle, so Bank-1 is on the right side of the vehicle, and the O2 sensor that monitors the catalyst efficiency should be located after or (post) of the catalytic converter. It would be the post right O2 sensor.

There is also the possibility that the catalytic converter is actually starting to fail, and if changing the O2 sensor and clearing the DTC does not solve the problem them the catalytic converter is most likely faulty.

Where is the oxygen sensor at and is it hard 2 get to

Most of these vehicles have 3, one on each exhaust pipe, left and right, and a third "downstream" just before the cat. converter. They screw into a "bung" (threaded nut) welded to the pipe. They kind of look like a spark plug with a wire, or 2, coming off of it that plugs into a harness near by. If you had the check engine light on the code usually tells you which one it is.
