The 3rd brake light working does reveal that the fuse is good, and the brake switch is good. Check the bulbs, sockets, and the wiring between the brake lights

Dash lights not working

Have you checked your tail light's as well? Chevrolet's dash light's wont work if you have blown a tail light fuse. Their way of letting you know you have no tail lights. check the tail light fuse and go from there. Good luck..

1996 Monte Carlo no brake lights only third brake light, fuse is good

sounds like one of two things, your bulbs are burnt out or your brake light switch is no good, the switch has 2 parts inside of it, one for ther brake lights and one for the 3rd brake light

2001 Monte Carlo SS 3.8 v6 Rear park lights are out as well as the dash lights, brake lights work headlights work front running and park lights work, all turn signal lights work. replaced headlight switch...

Park, Tail, Marker Lamps, and License
The park, tail and marker lamps, including the license lamps, turn on when the headlamp switch is placed in either the PARK or the HEAD position, or anytime the headlamps are requested. The RT I/P #1 fuse in the RH I/P fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to both the park lamp relay switch contacts and to the park lamp relay coil circuit. The park lamp relay coil is controlled by the body control module (BCM). When the headlamp switch is placed in the PARK position, the BCM energizes the park lamp relay coil control circuit.
Current flows from the park lamp relay switch to both front and rear park lamp fuses and to their respective park/tail lamps. The front park lamps are grounded at G101. The rear park lamps are grounded at G302. The license plate lamps are a part of the rear park lamp circuit and are grounded at G302. The inadvertent power control feature prevents the park lamps from remaining on more than 10 minutes if left on. If the park lamps are turned on after the ignition switch has been turned OFF, or is in the ACCY position, they will remain on until turned off or until the battery runs dead.

Did you the REAR PARK LP fuse 15 amp in the right insturment panel fuse box.

1997 monte carlo left brake light doesn't work and when the headlights are on the left signal light doesnt turn on but still flashes when u use the turn signal

Broken ground on that set of lights or the bulb is bad there are two elements in those bulbs for two separate lights.

I have a 1997 monte carl and the brake lights keep going on and off they work sometimes but not at all times same with the turn signals

If the 3rd brake light always works, then it is the turn signal switch. If the 3rd brake light doesn't work, then it needs further investigation. The turn signal switch is in the steering column, the air bag must be removed and steering wheel must be pulled. Special tools are required. The airbag can cause serious injury.

Brake lights erractic on 1996 Monte Carlo

It could be wiring, a bad ground, a defective plug to the tail-light, the tail-light itself, a loose fuse, or a dirty or faulty connection at the hazard switch. If it is the hazard switch you can try to actuate it (on and off) 6 to 12 times. This may help clean off the contacts and let the brake lights, return to normal.

No taillights, brake lights or turn signals

This is usually caused by a defective multifunction switch, see it quite allot, the clue is the 3rd brake light, it is on a separate fuse and does not run through the multifunction switch on the steering column.
