Can I replace the reclning mechanism on a 2002 PT Cruiser

Yes. The seats do disassemble and you can find an appropriate replacement part if you search long enough. An eBay search showed one for $100. Entire seats, on the other hand, started at $50. Call a few local salvage yards and see how much they want for one. Because of the disassembly work, they will likely charge you more for the part than the entire seat. The most cost effective, least time consuming thing to do is to acquire a cosmetically damaged, functioning seat and swap your current upholstery over to it.

Very much so. Kinda sounds like you have a bad bearing. This is not a fun job, to much to list to get you thru it. You need to get a manual on your vehicle as you need some pics to look at doing this job.,

Sounds odd... Rikkalan,

(but it appears AMAZON agrees with your mechanic)

Just go to ROCKAUTO and look up your parts...

If the entire arm needs to be replaced the separate ball-joint will not be listed...

Hope this helps!!

Need to change from km to miles on odometer, and there is no reset button to change it back to miles.

If the odometer is a digital display, you may need to take it to the dealer to get the computer to report miles. This function may not be available to non-GM scanners. If it is a mechanical speedometer, you probably need to replace the entire head to get miles display. Check with wrecking yards for a used one. You can drive the odometer one way or the other by using a short length of cable in an electric drill.

I drove my car home. It drives in Drive and

Fortunately, park is not a function of the real internal transmission workings. (like clutches, gears, bands etc) Likely your shift cable or linkage needs adjustment, or the cable may have stretched and needs replacement. Even if the problem is inside the transmission, most parking mechanisms can be serviced by just removing the pan, not the entire unit.

The reason you need a new steering column, is that part is made into the steering column, and is not servicable by it self. You may be able to find a used one at a salvage yard and transfer some of your parts to it. That would be your cheapest route.
