I have a 2000jeep Cherokee limited. When I crank it there is a clicking noise coming from the front pass door. It doesn't stop til I lock the windows or kill the truck. What is in that door?
Which engine, we can not guess engines here. not ever. (rare)
this is called a XJ car.
2.5l or 4.0 liter or the Diesel????
ok electrics 101.
all electronics and electrics have a rule
of power is low, things go nuts.
its like not eating and blood sugur drops then you drop.
same deal;
each part has a rule for this but im not going there, (can but wont)
the starter goes dead at 8v
if the battery is weak many electronics goes nuts at below 10v.
varies by year and make of car and all options on the car.
for windows, IM NOT GOING THERE> way too complex of topic that.
(mix of parts)
so when the door goes nuts, what is the battery voltage
a tech, uses a voltmeter,
walmart sells one for $10 in auto and in the elect. department.
is the battery too low, cranking?
here are the 3 rules for the battery after cleaning posts.
1: charged battery rested , is 12.6v. not in siberia , summer temps.
2: running engine battery voltage is 13.3 to 15v, if not the battery drains.
3: cranking, most books show 11v. but if not below 10v your ok
most the time. but who knows, that? nobody on earth.
why not use booster jumper cables to a running other car AAA STYLE?
if the noise goes away, then may be ,
the battery is low
battery discharge
or battery is weak (bad)
or you have parasitic drains.
or the charge system is bad.
KEEP IN MIND i cant hear it. so... all my answers will sux.
