SOURCE: front left brake keeps locking up

i suspect that you have a bad caliper which is sticking. look there first, and always replace both if on the front, since murphy's law usually applies. thats where 60% of your stopping power comes from. the anti lock system won't normally cause the problem you describe, but a bad caliper will. make sure the rotors are ok as well.

I have 09 buick lacrosse and my brakes lockes up what could cause this

Could be caliper/s or brake hose/s. Easiest way to tell is release the brake hose from the caliper. If it releases, the hose is clogged/collapsed. If it doesn't it's the caliper.

Front brake is locking up

Try adjusting the push rod on the brake pedal so there is more play. It could be too tight and causing your problem

On 93 honda accord the brakes lock down as soon as it gets warm. The rims are hot and you can smell the brakes. The gas also drains like crazy when its locked down, and the motor won't get passed 30 mph....

  • CHECK THE RUBBER LINES IN THE FRONT AND BACK OF THE CAR ON EACH WHEEL. THEY GO TO THE CALIPERS ON THE FRONT/REAR BRAKES..IF THEY ARE TOO BAD THEY CAUSE LOCK UP ON THE BRAKES AS THAY COLLAPSE AND WONT LET THE PRESSURE DRAIN TO RELEASE BRAKES (LINE LOCK) ;) BAD CRACKS.SPLITS OR WEAR CAN CAUSE THIS.
  • OTHERWISE YOU MAY HAVE A STUCK CALIPER WHICH SHOULD BE REPLACED, OR PARKING BRAKE IS STUCK.

Left front brake locked up. Changed master cyclinder. Have good brakes for an hour then left front keeps getting air in line. No visible leaks (wet spots).anywhere also no lose of fluid.

If left front brake is binding it will cause brake fluid to boil which inturn causes air in system, then soft pedal. [may also explain lock up].
