Chevy silverado 2006 lights "service air bag"

This could be a couple of things.
1. The sensor in the seat is not working any longer and needs replaced.
2. The airbag itself is not working.
When you turn on the key, the body control module checks all the devices and has found a problem with one of them. This is a dealer only service item because it involves the air bag. It is not going to be cheap if it is the airbag itself.

Could have damaged the front sensor, but you'll need to get the computer scanned for trouble codes to proceed with testing.

Hi...your problem might be coming from your front wheel bearing hubs. They are know to cause this problem as they wear out and eventually have to be replaced.

you need to take this to a shop that has the capability to do air bag work as this may be a false code by the way you discribe how it happened.and there will be code in the computer and it will have to be clear from the ars system.

I had this same issue happen to me with my heating/cooling unit (among other issues with the fan speed) about 6 times. They replaced the resistor 3 times and its fine. Luckily, the first 5 occurrences were under warranty and the dealer covered the 6th fix. I'm still not happy between this problem and issues 2x with the service engine and service air bags... I only have 26k miles on this thing and bought the truck brand new in Oct 2006.

no you have to have the air bag system hooked up to a scanner and see what is wrong

not relaed, just bad luck! you need to get ot scanned to see what airbag sensor is bad, thats why its blinking  GOOD LUCK!
