How do you change the starter on a 2000 Saturn.

the starter is located between the firewall and the engine, you have to jack it up both sides (use jack stands) to remove it lying directly under the space between the firewall and the engine-there is room to work, but it can be a tough job because you have to do everything on your back. Disconnect the negative terminal to the battery before starting the job.

How involved it distributor removal and

it is very easy-for starters there is no distributor,it has an ignition module which is located on the right side off the engine in front-just follow the spark plug wires.the plugs are very easy to get to. on an sl1 the plugs are right below the valve cover-just remove the plug wires and replace the plugs and probably wire also-unless the coils are bad(corroded)you shouldnt have to replace the ignition module.

2000 Saturn SC2 wont start.

I would test the battery and then go to starter and make sure the sylinoid is good. Autozone will test for free if you have nothing to do it yourself.
