Why wont my high beams stay on by it self after i let go of the switch. on my 2001 buick regal

High beams are on by pulling the lever toward you temp mode to engage the high beams simply push the lever forward the high beams should engage then.

light switch is probably defective - more power is being used on hi-beams causing breakdown in switch - get replaced

Did you check the fuse for the low beams? The high and low are on seperate circuits..

u need to replace the multi-funcition switch in the steering colum...hope it helps

Likely a problem in the switch. You may be able to get in there and put power to the high beam wire and see if they come on then. Use a fuse in between if you try this.

How do i keep my high beams on?
If your high beams are controlled by your blinker lever if you pull.the lever towards you it will flash the high beams on. If you push the lever towards the front of the vehicle(dashboard) it should stay forward. Click it back towards you it will.go back to normal lights

Have you tried wiggling the turn signal lever when the problem occurs? I have seen multiple cases where the wiring inside the headlight high beam/turn signal switch melts and causes the problem you are describing. If you can wiggle the high beam/turn signal switch and CAUSE the problem, you have a defective high beam/turn signal switch.

I have a 2000 buick regal ls and the high beam switch on the steering column broke. It broke in the on position now the high beams stay on and when you shut the car off the headlights stay on all the time....
There should be a "Headlight" fuse in your fuse panel. Use a NON metal object like plastic fuse pullers to remove that fuse. If you don't have plastic pullers, be extra carefull and use a pair if needle nosed pliers. You don't want to get shocked or cause any further problems. Usually you can remove it without interfering with any others.

The low beam headlight on my 2001 buick regal ls wont turn on, but my high beams do.
It could be the low beam lights have gone bad. It is very possible for only the high beams to work, by themselves. If they won't turn on check fuses.

Pull back on the turn signal switch. If it does not stay engaged, replace the turn signal switch. I would get it from a junk yard because they are around $300 new.
