Now it idles fine but it backfires and will not rev up it bogs down. The codes are saying crank position sensor emission plunger valve. Any help would be appreciated.

Could be I would first check and make sure you didn't cross a plug wire it happen's and easy to do check and make sure your distributer isn't cracked.

SOURCE: no power when hit the gas

The fuel presure should be at least 60- 66 psi key on engine off, and then drop some when started, if it doesn't go any higher than 50 psi that would explain your backfire concern. If it is low then the fuel pump is weak. I have also seen soot on the little wires inside the Mass Airflow Sensor cause a concern like this.

Car starts hard then idles roughly for 2-3min then stalls and dies

It sounds like some thing you have done if the fault started after the tune , did you check the gap on the new plugs, check the firing order as it may be messed up . 4 cylinder 1342 6 cylinder 153624 in direction of rotation.

1995grand cherokee4wd when truck is started it dies right out and won't stay running.

Hi Susan,
I would do a full tune up. Change oil. oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. I know it sounds like a lot, but this is considered a full tune up. If problem persists let me know and we can go from there.

How much is a tune up for a 1996 jeep cherokee

It varies greatly on how much you want to spend and how much of a tune up your doing. For me replacing all the spark plugs, spark plug wires, cap and rotor, air filter, oil change/ oil filter change and fuel filter change is a big tune up that would run a do it yourselfer about $80- $125.00 or more if you get higher performance parts. You can also add to that coolant flush and some good fuel additive. make sure to check your serpentine belt for cracks or wear.

Rough idle, dies when running slow

Not much info here, but I would do a tune-up. Change spark plugs, oil and filter, air filter. Disributor rotor and check distributor cap for cleanliness. Make sure spark plug wires are not arcing.

I have a 1996 2.5 liter Dodge dakota that will turn over but not

im assuming youve done basic tune up of plugs, wires, air and fuel filters, oil, distributor if applicable (im guessing not but never owned a dodge)

if it bogs down/stalls at stops only when its hot, try a new egr valve. probably getting stuck open. if not that try heavier oil to see if its losing compression, just one step up. also,

if it runs ok after clearing the computer by disconnecting the battery for a while, probably a dying sensor (most likely o2)

if after clearing computer it still runs bad after warm up, see if it bogs down really bad when letting it warm up from cold without driving (just idle to make sure its not egr system). if it dies or sounds like its close to dead, then its probably something fuel related (clogged/faulty injector, worn fuel pump, bad pump relay)

hope it helps

When idling my 2003 Acura TL the engine seems to want to almost die, also when i got on the freeway it seem to pull hard and **** like it was having trouble shifting into 5th gear. It also seems to run...

You may need to change the coil pack(s) or modular. The modular is what the coil pack(s) mount to. I'm not familiar with that engine so you may have a 3 piece coil pack, or a 1 piece. (If it doesn't have a distributor). You may first try replacing the coil wire. There is a good chance that is loose, or bad. It could also be the coil itself. Try the coil wire and if it still acts up, then try the others. Also, when you changed the plugs, did you put new plug wires? When I do a tune up on my vehicles, I change the plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor, (coil pack, modular), whichever is equipped, oil, oil filter, tranny fluid and filter with gasket, valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket oil filter, and fuel filter. Try changing the fuel filter as well, as plugged or dirty fuel filters can cause stall outs. I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing fixya.com for answers.
