I have a1996 Ford Crown Victoria and the interior lights work at times and at other times they do not. This auto has the fade in fade out interior lighting system

The lights illuminate as advertised when you pull out on the door handle sometimes. At other times they do not come on at all or glow very dimly and for just a short time. Any ideas?

Vehicle is pretty old and switches and contacts start getting finicky. Check to see if the door on the other side creates the same problem, if one side works everytime and the other doesn't the problem is in the door. If both sides are the same then the problem is in the relay or brain for the dimming feature.

The inside light doesn't shut off

Open one door at a time and press the door button-switch (in the door-frame, hinge side usually) to see if that switch will shut off the light. If you find one that does, either extend the button length slightly with hot glue or epoxy, or replace the switch. Make sure the light has not been turned on at the light or that the switch is bad.

'96 ford Crown Victoria....No hazard or brake light no turn sigal

Sounds like the multifunction switch. Try working the hazard switch up and down a few times to see if you get some lights to work. If so then replace the switch.
