When my clutch pedal is fully depressed it doesnt return. Icanlift it manually but the clutch doesnt engage.
SOURCE: clutch pedal not returning to position
Under the dash look to see if there is a spring attached to the petal or maybe under the hood. Or you might have something getting in the was of the petal arm. Good Luck and PEACE
SOURCE: loose clutch, leak on clutch cable next to gearbox,
if it is a hydralic clutch there is no adjustment. and if it is leaking on the transmission you need a new slave cylinder.
hope i provided some information for you
please leave me feed back
thank you
SOURCE: Clutch pedal fails to return fully after depressing.
I had same problem with my brand new 1981 F100, that I owned from 1981 to about 1990. Had it in to Ford under warr several times for clutch related issues, among which, the one you describe..pedal not coming all the back. Never got it quite right!! Had clutch jobs at 65K and then around 100K again. Never quite right!! Sold at 125K
Good truck otherwise, good mpg..19 hwy.
SOURCE: the clutch pedal sticks down when trying to engage
YOU DO NEED A NEW DISC AND MOST LIKELY A MASTER AND SLAVE HYDRAULIC CLUTCH CYLINDERS, THE STICKING MAY BE DUE TO OVER TRAVEL DUE TO THE WORN OUT DISK.
SOURCE: How do I adjust the clutch? Clutch engages when
A high clutch pedal is good.
There should only be about a half inch of pedal freeplay, before you start to feel resistance.
So the clutch should not engage until it is almost fully released, near the top.
The makes shifting the easiest.
If the shifting is difficult when cold, then put the transmission in neutral and let the clutch out when you warm up the engine.
That will warm up the transmission oil.
Of course you could also check the transmission oil level and change it.
But your question makes me believe you may need more experience on a stick shift. Make sure you do the H pattern carefully, and do not get lazy and turn it into an X pattern.
