SOURCE: I cant find a detailed picture of where the location is to check these items.

The crankshaft position sensor is located on the transmission bell housing on the right side (if you're facing the engine from the transmission side). The camshaft position sensor is towards the top center of the timing cover on the front of the motor. They both have 3 wire connectors that are virtually identical.

2008 Pontiac G6. I can't get it to rev over 4000 rpm after changing the crankshaft sensor. To reset the crankshaft sensor you have to rev the rpm past 5000.

Question edited for a lot more clarity. That is the worst written English and spelling I have seen for months! :>D
Question moved to model category.

It sounds like you are in Limp Mode. Was the crankshaft sensor, a proper OEM replacement of a cheap one from Mexico or China? They come faulty as new! Don't go cheap on sensors.

Or it has a rev limiter depending on what you are doing.

2008 Pontiac G6 3.5, ECM 2009 from a 2008. I changed the ECM, everything is good except really high idle and I tap on pedal and it shoots to 5,000 rpm. Why?

Question edited for clarity and typos. Not sure what you mean by "ECM 2009 from a 2008" though.

There will always be a learning period when you put in a new ECM. First clean the Throttle Body and MAF.

Then you may need to relearn the Throttle Position Sensor.

You can Google all this stuff.
