Moon roof leaking

The moon roof on my 2004 Toyota Camery XLE does not go to the fully closed position automatically and therefore does not seal and leaks into the rear passanger side floor. Is there an auto stop positioner? can it be adjusted? When the moon roof is fully closed should it be flush with the top of the roof or slightly recessec or sticking up? Is there a drip tube? If so what is the direction of its run and how do you access it to see if it is cracked or if a joint has come apart? There is no evidence of water on the roof panel or moon roof shade and nothing drips direct from the moon roof to the floor therefore, I assume it is running down a drip tube but making its way to the floor.

SOURCE: there is a water leak

Your A/C drain hose may be plugged. If so, the condensate from the A/C box will leak onto the floor, and eventually soak the rear carpet as well. This is a common issue. It is under the glove box, close to the passenger floor. Remove it and make sure that it is open. Alos, always run the A/C in the RECIRC mode.

Water in the trunk can be from a bad trunk seal or poorly sealed taillamp seams

SOURCE: there is a water leak

Check the A/C condensate drain tube, which is under the glove box, towards the center console, going thru the firewall. If it is plugged, the water in the A/C box will have no place to go & leak onto the floor. This is a common issue, and running the A/C on the "fresh" mode compounds this problem. When the A/C is on, the water removed from the interior is supposed to drain out thru the firewall onto the street.

SOURCE: moon roof leaking tube in corner stopped up.

If you can access the top side of the tube without removing the moon roof, you can take an air compressor hose with a rubber nozzle, jam the tip in the hose and blast it with quick bursts of air. To insure that you got the blockage out, pour some water in that area and watch around the wheel well for the water to flow out.

Ford escape 2014 power moon roof barely tilts open

This is normal. The reason it raises higher is due to the design of the sliding arms in the moon roof. without going into too much detail, the reason it raises before closing is to "unlock" itself from from the "Locked" open Position in order to get to the "Locked" closed position. Its a fancy way of making it seal well when closed and not rattle when open

2002 impala water dripping from panel where moon roof switch is, compass, fuel mpg info.

It is going to be the seal in your moon roof. Unless you have holes in the top of your car you can be sure that the water is coming from there.

I need to reprogram my 2004 ford focus sunroof, i believe that info is in the owner's manual

  1. 1. Tilt the moon roof into the vent position as much as possible and press on the front portion of the control.
  2. 2. Now release the switch.
  3. 3. Now press and hold that same switch again for 30 seconds or until the moon roof begins to move.
  4. 4. Now release the switch ans immediately press and hold the switch agaon.
  5. 5. Now the moon roof should close then open then close again.
  6. 6. You MUST wait until the moon roof has closed that second time before releasing the switch of the process will be a failure and you will have to start again.

Air leakage coming from moon roof. is there an adjustment for seal around glass, there is no water leaking in just wind whistling continually.

The glass frame is adjustable. Sometimes these types of leaks can be fixed with adjustment and sometimes it requires that the seals be replaced. Take a look at the pictures below. If your sun roof looks like it is pretty well centered when it is closed, then you probably need to replace the seals. If it is off-center, then it can probably be adjusted to fix your leak.

I had the same problem on my '96. After exhausting all avenues, forums, DYI pages, etc., I learned the motor had to be disconnected, then the moon roof clossed manually. It is not airtight, but it doesn't leak. I plan to replace the motor in the spring. Wish me luck.

My moon roof leaks. How can I fix it?

are the drains plugged around the sun roof? the sun roof will not seal out water, it drains away through tubes around the sun roof, check to make sure they are clear, this is 100% the cause of the problem.

Recently replaced the battery in my wife's 04 Solara. Now the sunroof will not work "automatically" like it did before. I now have to hold the button, when I only had to press and hold for a second before....

INITIALIZATION
1. INITIALIZATION OF SLIDING ROOF MOTOR
(a) The sliding roof AUTO operation and the jam protection function may not operate normally if the battery
is disconnected/reconnected, replaced or recharged. Initialize the sliding roof system using the method
below.
(1) Turn the ignition switch ON.
(2) Initialize the sliding roof by pressing and holding the TILT UP switch until the roof glass tilts upward
fully (the roof glass automatically tilts downward slightly after fully tilting upward).
(3) Release the switch.
HINT:
If the battery terminal is disconnected, the moon roof control ECU may not detect the position of the roof
glass. If the sliding roof AUTO operation is still disabled even after the sliding roof drive gear has been initialized,
the hall IC may be malfunctioning. The hall IC is built into the sliding roof drive gear and detects the
roof glass position.
If the result is not as specified, replace the drive gear assy (moon roof control ECU).

2005 Toyota Sienna XLE - Automatic sliding door not closing.

This may or may not work depending on exactly what is wrong with the door, I cant tell what is wrong without looking at it directly however:
You can try starting with all doors closed and unlocked, keys in hand disconnecting the battery and letting the vehicle sit for 2 min or so, then reconnect the battery. Put the key into the ignition and turn it to the on position but do not start the van. Next press the button to disable the power sliding door for the drivers side, then manually open the door fully, wait 5 seconds, then close it manually fully. Press button the button again to re-enable the power sliding door, then try to use it with the automatic feature either by pulling the handle or using your remote, this may or may not work depending on if the door has somehow become de-initialized (it should work now) however if something is broken inside the door closing mechanism or door closed/open sensors, the door will continue to malfunction.
