If your steering wheel is in a "locked " position, meaning you cannot move
Your steering wheel beyond a wiggle , then you may need to try rotating the steering wheel as far as possible while turning key ... Try turning (wiggling) in both directions while turning key....
May also trying placing car in Neutral vs park, see what happens....
Finally , make sure you have brake depressed while turning ignition , may have a safety feature built in of some kind
The ignition module (ignition switch on top of the steering column) normally doesn't get stuck.
things you can try:
steering wheel lock: (the pin gets a "burr" on it and locks everything up) wiggle steering wheel back and forth while trying to turn key.
transmission lock (parking on an incline will jam up the interlock)
push the shifter farther into park while trying to turn the key, or wiggle shifter

under the steering column, there are three or four little holes in the plastic covering. If you look inside, one of them (the one on the right side toward the dash) there is a brass pin inside. This is the pin to release the key. As far as the key not turning, I have had the same problem. The first time I replaced the ignition switch and that solved the problem. However, this makes no sense because the ignition switch has nothing to do with the tumbler being locked. GMC thinks that my anti theft system, which is inside the ignition cylinder is the problem. By removing the ignition switch, it reset the pass lock anti-theft system and temporarily fixed the problem. So, try removing the ignition switch and then plugging it back in. If that doesn't work, your in the same boat as I am, and we may both need new ignition cylinders.

It's part of the steering lock mechanism causing the issue. You probably turned everything off while the wheels were off center. Grab your steering wheel and pull it counter-clockwise with some strength and at the same time, try turning your ignition key. It should release.

Check your fuel pressure at the shredder valve. If you don't have a fuel pressure gauge, you can get a loner tool at Auto Zone and get the proper fuel pressure readings you need for you car. I don't know which engine you have and the different engine's have different readings. Good luck and hope this helps on check the fuses, it could be a simple as that.

try to wiggle the steering wheel while trying to turn the key, if that doesnt work then i would say the ignition switch is worn the tumbler are worn, also try a spare key maybe the key is worn,if all fails then switch needs replacing, hope this helps.
