You need a diagram of your vehicles Evap System

You really need, a repair shop to smoke test the valve ,
to see if it is not closing & your assumption is correct

A long shot & no guarantee, would be to buy the valve at
a dealer,crawl under there & match it up. Not my first choice

in-tank fuel pump. remove gas tank and remove the fuel pump and screen from it and either clean the pump and screen(or in-tank filter) or replace it with a new one. Its a lot easier if you empty the tank first.

There is no such diagram available. You will simply have to follow the fuel lines from the fuel rail on the engine along the truck frame rail towards the tank, or from the fuel tank along the truck frame rail towards the fuel rail on the engine. Some are on the left side frame rail and some are on the right side frame rail, depending on which engine your vehicle is equipped with. You simply have to LOOK.

You need 3 hands and 2 screw drivers. Pry the metal tabs (from the gas tank entrance safety tabs)out from the hose with the 2 drivers and pull the hose out.
