Firstly if the belt went you probably have bent valves. However if you want to assemble and see remove cam belt covers, remove crank pulley (could be tricky if you don't have an air tool ) remove tappet cover ( you may have to remove the throttle body to do this) Get some flat bar approx. 6mm thick and 400 to 500 mm long. You will see that on the gearbox side of the cams there are slots in the end. Remove the plugs and put a screw driver ( long ) down the hole, any one, and turn the crank untill the piston is roughly half way down the bore. Turn the cams until the plate will sit on the head and slot into the cams thus locking them. The slots are offset so you will have to play around until the plate slides in easy. Then loosen the cam gears untill you can spin them by hand, but not so loose that they are falling off. Put your long screwdriver or preferably a dial guage with extensions into no 1 plug hole turn the engine untill the piston is right at the top. Loosen the tensioner and push it back against the spring and lock it fit the new belt right to left then let the tensioner go. Check play on longest side of belt it should move about 6mm. lock the tensioner. Tighten the cam pulleys and remove plate. turn the engine one full turn clockwise and check belt tension- adjust if neccessary. turn one full turn again and make sue plate slides in when no. 1 piston is on top. Then do a compression test to see if you have bent valves. If the compression test is ok. reassemble and drive away. If not (the exhaust valves are normally bent) you are half way to taking the head off. In which case contact me and I will walk you through it. Good luck Shaun

03 Saturn vue 160 lb compression on 1/3/5 no compression on 2/4/6 timing marks are lined up.

You have 2/4/6 timing marks 180 degress out on exhaust or intake cam .

Did your special tool ?
Rotate the crankshaft using the J 42098 until the #1 cylinder is at 60 degrees before top dead center (BTDC).
Install theJ 42069 Crankshaft Locking Tool.
Rotate the crankshaft in the engine rotational direction (clockwise) using the J 42098 until the #1 cylinder is at top dead center (TDC) and tighten the lever arm to the water pump pulley flange.
Important: Ensure that the alignment of the crankshaft is not 180 degrees off. The alignment mark must align with the corresponding notches on the rear timing belt cover.
Install the 1-2 and 3-4 camshaft locks, the J42069-1 Timing Belt Alignment Kit and the J42069-2.
Important: Do not rotate the crankshaft if the camshafts are not locked in place with the 1-2 and 3-4 camshaft locks (J42069-1 and J42069-2).
Important: Do not rotate the camshafts unless the crankshaft is at 60 degrees BTDC or the valves may contact the crankshaft.
Loosen the tensioner pulley.
Remove the timing belt.

Does the crankshaft pulley have to come off when replacing the timing belt on a 2003 Saturn Vue 3.0

Yes it does. The timing cover is behind it. Timing components are behind the cover.

What is the average labor time to do the head gaskets, water pump, and timing belt set on a 2003 Sarurn Vue v6?

I have to say head gaskets on a 3.0L VUE is very uncommon. Perhaps you could have the shop who is working on it explain it better and you could follow up because I have seen exactly 1 VUE 3.0L head gasket leak.

Labor to do the water pump and timing belt should be around 4 hours. Maybe a little more if the water pump leaked and made a mess they need to clean up.

Can the crankshaft position sensor on a 2006 chrysler 300 3.5L prevent the crankshaft from fully rotating?

Why are you asking that question?

You know if the timing belt, crank & cam gears are not set correctly,
that the valves will hit the pistons & the motor won't turn

Resetting timing after replacing head gasket

Do you have the timing belt on and the tensioner set correct? If so, just rotate the crankshaft around until the notch on the crank sprocket is lined up with the pointer on the oil puimp housing (TDC). Now the camshaft sprocket's notch or pointer should be at the top and exactly in line with the mark on the rear timing belt cover. If it's not correct, you'll have to release tension on the belt, remove it, and set the camshaft to the mark. But before you do that, turn the crankshaft back (counterclockwise) just three notches. Then you can turn the cam to line up, then return crank to line up, and continue with belt installation, setting the tension, and re-checking timing marks after rotating the crankshaft a couple of revolutions. Once you know the timing is set to TDC, no further timing adjustments are possible, because the computer controls timing. I don't know how important it is, but just to let you know: Chrysler recommends after belt removal or replacement that one perform the "crankshaft and camshaft relearn alignment procedure" using the DRB scan tool (Chrysler's scanner device) or equivalent scan tool.
And the firing order on all four cylinder engines is the same: 1 3 4 2.
I hope this helps you out. Cheers.

Do you have a diagram for 2003 saturn timing belt

The 2.2 liter engine uses colored links on the timing chain to align with the marks on the gears. You just have to rotate the engine to where the copper chain link is up on the upper right side of the intake can gear--aligned to the INT diamond on the gear. Then the silver link should be down at about 5 O-Clock on the crankshaft timing mark. The other silver link should then be aligned to the mark on the exhaust cam sprocket. See picture below.

For the 3.0 liter engine, there are marks on the belt that line up with marks on the gears. The book calls out special tools to hold the cam sprockets in alignment while the belt is put on. There is also a special tool to lock the belt onto the crankshaft sprocket. See pictures below.
Please let me know if you have questions.

CAM SHAFT MARKS 2002 SATURN VUE 3.0L

This is a pretty tough timing belt job to do if you have never done one before. There is also a kit of tools that are essential to getting the timing right on this engine. The cams are numbered 1-2-3-4 from left to right if you are facing the cam sprockets. If the tensioner was broken and the engine came out of time you are probably looking at at least a few bent valves. Could be time well spent to perform a leakdown test before you spend too much time on installing a timing belt.
