I have a 98 buick regal. I have three fuel lins coming from the gas tank what's its called and what is it used for?
Anon, 1998 Buick Regal? The part in question is known as the fuel pump assembly or the fuel pump sending unit. Last link labels the 3 lines. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

One is for the fuel delivery, one is for the return and the other one goes to the vapor cannister.

You have a problem in the fuel pump relay circuit for sure then. I'm betting the relay, but it could be that dropping resistor.

Those are vapor return lines. The engine uses some of the fuel, but not all so vapor not used will be sent back the fuel tank and reused by the engine. It's all a part of the emissions operation of the vehicles. Rather than porting the excess fuel into the air like the old vehicles did they created a return line to the tank to save fuel, protect the environment and get you better MPG or Miles Per Gallon.

trace the line, it could be connected to the fuel filter, or a breather, or headed straight for the engine.

Usually there are three lines. One for the vent, and two for the fuel pump. One of the pump lines is pressure to the injectors and the other is a return line from the injectors. The vent line may not have a clamp on it and it is the smallest of the three.
