If you're having trouble accessing your 2002 Cadillac DeVille's glove box because it seems to be locked and you only have the valet key, here are a few steps you can try:
Check for a Separate Valet Key Slot:
Some vehicles have a separate valet key slot inside the glove box. Insert the valet key into this slot, turn it, and see if it unlocks the glove box.
Inspect for a Release Button:
Examine the perimeter of the glove box for a hidden release button. Some glove boxes have a button or latch that may not be immediately visible.
Use the Main Ignition Key:
Even if you primarily use the valet key, try using the main ignition key to unlock the glove box. Sometimes, the valet key may not have the same features as the main key.
Check the Owner's Manual:
Refer to the vehicle's owner's manual for specific instructions on unlocking the glove box. It may provide information on alternate methods or features specific to your Cadillac DeVille.
Contact the Dealership:
If none of the above steps work, consider contacting your Cadillac dealership. They may be able to provide guidance on unlocking the glove box or assist with obtaining a replacement key.
Professional Locksmith:
If all else fails, you may need to consult a professional locksmith. They have tools and expertise to help unlock car compartments, including glove boxes.
Remember to avoid using excessive force as it may damage the glove box. Additionally, make sure you have proof of ownership and identification when seeking assistance from the dealership or a locksmith. If your vehicle has an electronic locking mechanism, it's essential to rule out any electrical issues or malfunctions as well.
The only way to open your trunk is to use the handle itself. If you unlock the car once (key fob), just the drivers side unlocks. If you unlock twice, both the doors and truck hatch unlock. But as far as there being a button in the cabin with which to open the trunk, there is none.
There is a earth fault somewhere. try to check your earths on the lights should be a green cable connected to the body of the car near the lights sometimes found inside behind the lights.
if its for radio sometimes dealer will ask for some model no# on your radio and he can give you code to unlock it..sometimes they charge either sometimes you cant win
Didn't know the hatchback has key hole. mine don't. Anyways. climb in it from the inside and see if you can manually unlock the hatch. It's a little white knob at the latch that moves from side to side...lock/unlock. good luck
I had the saem problem, you should have a code that came with the manual its on a card and it will give you the password. If you dont have one take it to a honda/acura dealership
look on the side of your glove box on the casing of the glove box compartment and if there is a sticker with i think it is a 4 or 5 digit code press that code in. and it should unlock. if not you can always pull the stereo out and get have the dealership look it up and give you the code. if you have the owners manual they normally put the code in the back pages of the owners manual as well. if you cant find it post another problem i will try to help
