After driving for a while the car will stall out when coming to s stop or making a turn. what can cause this?

Have not noticed any error codes, but the car is about a quart low on oil at this point. Everything else seems fine

Hi Wes.

This is typically the PCM going out. AKA the computer. It's hard to diagnose...trust me. I actually had a mechanic tell me that my engine was hitting the firewall of the interior of the engine because two motor mounts were out. Guess what? Replaced them, and it still did it. Needless to say, you either have a bad PCM or you need the software updated and you will need to have your local Chrysler dealership($600+) assist as not many, if any, shops have the software/hardware available to fix this issue. You can however, do what I did and order a refurbished PCM ($250.00) for your year model and send the mileage so they can program it for you. It's located under the drivers side tire wheel well.
Good Luck.

SOURCE: car won't start wants to turn over but nothing.

sounds like you have a blown head gasket this would explain loss of coolant and running poorly excessive smoke.

SOURCE: Car died at the stoplight. Oil light came on.

Probably blowed it. Sorry to say. You can continue to crank it but it probably already seized a bearing. Run a pressure check on the oil.

SOURCE: my 2001 chrystler concord will turn over but wont start

take a 1/2 rachett wrench with deep socket.find what size crank shaft pulley bolt you have.when you have the right size socket try to turn crank shaft clock wise.if engine wont turn.your engine seized lack of oil.if engine turns over.your cylinder wall can be scorned enough to cause no compression.no compression engine will not crank.

Stalling when turn back on

all stalls end in CEL check engine light on. that is normal
but CEL glow. when engine running , means you had a failure, and it stored DTC error codes, so scan it.
lots of causes. huge list.
get a tune up , tops list.

SCAN it to be sure all sensors work. running.
all fuses in car good.
by stalls , i assume the engine stalls and engine RPM is 0 RPM.
the stall cause the whole dash to light up, all the warning lamps come
on (self test) oil , charge , CEL. come on.
what is important is the stall and the cause.

i will tell you the 3 ways.
lost electrical power to engine EFI system (seems not)
bad engine, (lost compression hot)?
bad spark , spark died.?
bad fueling, lost all fueling (starves and stalls or floods and misfires horribly and stalls (black spark plug tips are big time clue)

if non eof the rings a bell.?
get the car serviced.

this car is newer nicer car, you (we) can scan and drive and log data.
allowing faster easy diagnosis.

1999 ford f150 stalls when put in drive

Any flashing lights on the overdrive button. Sounds like a messed up torque converter or a computer command to stay locked up randomly. It's just a clutch that uses fluid, but most now have a electrical controlled magnetic clutch to lock them up. If they are told (wrongly by the computer) they won't let go and will stall the motor, cause harsh shifts, etc. Diesels just won't stop with the power they make. Scan for codes.

2009 nissan versa stalls and stops after stop and go city driving or, 30 plus minute highway driving

Hi Kathleen, I'm glad to help!

Kathleen, I can tell you this because I work at a dealer myself and through the years when a problem comes in like yours and we can't find anything wrong its because whatever is causing the issue is not setting a code. There is only a few things that can cause a problem like yours and not set a code. (1) Fuel pumps can cause intermittent problem but will never set a code. After running for a while they will simply stop working but then after sitting a while will cool down and work fine again. (2) Exhaust issues. After the exhaust system has a lot of years and miles on it, the debris inside it can restrict the air flow and in some cases cause the vehicle to die and run poorly after a restart, but after sitting awhile the debris falls back down and the vehicle runs fine again until it happens again. NOTE: I'm not saying that either of these is your problem BUT, you have to start somewhere. Your only other option would be to let it die until the check engine light come on and then you'll know for sure it has set a code. After it sets a code then the dealer should be able to find your problem. The problem is that if its one of the issues I mentioned it will never set a code. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Kathleen.

My 2000 sebring will stall and not restart while driving

The searing stalls and will not start right. This can be cause by low fuel pressure problem or bad timing belt or problem with ECM(the cars computer) it self. Also if you notice that check engine light is coming on and remaining steady ON,then get the car scanned to retrieve the error codes. That error code will point towards the fault causing this problem. When driving my car around town, i am starting to feel the car almost lag behind, as if the trans was slipping, then the battery light comes on, seat belt light flickers and the check engine light has been...

You need to have the computer scanned for trouble codes. The check engine light is there to let you know you have a problem. Scanning for codes will let you know what needs fixing, or at least where to start looking for the cause of your problems. Good luck.

1990 chevy lumina stalls when stopped..

If you live near an "autozone", drop in for free scan for trouble codes, then we can go from there, otherwise get back to us & we'll guide you as best we can. Too many items can cause similar symptoms, so better to get code & nail it first try, and much cheaper.

Turns off when i make a stop or slow turn

1st run a trouble code test to see what is wrong with the system that the check eng lite is on, then do the following to cure the stall issue.
Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls and low idle, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve, they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

1999 Buck Regal Stalls While Driving

Possible solution to stalling '99 Buick. My '99 Buick Century would die for no apparant reason with no error codes. After 4 days at a Buick dealership and many frustrated mechanics, the problem was corrosion from under the battery location. The wiring harness had small amounts of corrosion internally. Check the wiring under the battery for any corrosion. This has been the problem on more than 1 vehicle that we are aware of. No service bulletin has been issued by Buick.
