Most likely a relay or circuit breaker. Find the one and swap with another to verify. Replace the bad one.

SOURCE: 98 Chevy S10 4wd drive will not engage when button is pushed

your problem sounds like either the transfer case control module located where you hear the clicking sound, or the actuator on the transfer case itself.

try unplugging the transfer case control module and then plug it back in, try engaging 4wd again (make sure your in neutral, coasting at 1-2 mph might help as well) if it still doesn't work check the actuator itself to see if the actuator is trying to engage. if the actuator is trying to engage but doesn't, take the actuator out and check it for wear or damage. if the actuator seems fine and it responds to the buttons when pressed i'd go after the transfer case control module as the culprit. ran into that a few times on those s-10's. 3 out of 4 that i've seen were fixed with a new tccm. 1 of the 4 needed an actuator, check your local junk yard for a working tccm or actuator.

hope this helps!

SOURCE: 1998 GMC Jimmy with "turn signal" clicking behind glove box

I have a 1998 GMC Jimmy SLT with same exact problem. I just determined exactly what it is today.
Here is what you should do:

1) Open glove box

2) Notice the u-shape mechanism that prevents the glove box from folding all the way down. (located near top left corner of OPEN glove box

3) Empty contents of glove box and then push up on U-shape and open glove box so that it hangs freely

4) Notice the wiring harness with a bolt in middle of it (located behind glove box)

5) To the right of the wiring harness is a small black box with a zip tie over it. This is the source of your problem. Just slide the zip tie to the right so that the box can then be pulled out.

This is your combination flasher for turn and hazard signals. My signals still worked while this annoying little thing kept clicking. The model # is GM11516051. You can find one on e-bay for at least 1/2 the price of the dealer's.

SOURCE: vent door stuck and can't remove glove box

why can't you remove the glove box? You can get at the door from under the dash but it's a ***** to do. try lubing the vent cables unless it uses the vacuum motor, if it uses the vac. motor it will be hard to get to without the glove box being out.

Testimonial: "Thanks! I just don't know how to remove the glovebox."

Opening trunk of 2005 Chevy impala with no key

hope you have a switch inside the vehicle to do this. Usually they hide one in the glove box or a handle that operates a cable by the driver seat depending on the model.

Heater flap? Actually my 93 Chevy has been doing that for about 2 years. I can plug the flap for a short time. Then it sounds like a ticking clock sort of in glove box.-lol. Goes away after about 15 seconds? My guess-sounds like the same issue I have. Nothing to worry about. Easy fix if it really bothers you.

Trunk will not release with key remote but i hear click noise from fuse block on passenger side dash i have no manual so i dont know what fuse operates what also never have found any other trunck release...

If the actuator mechanism is functioning (you hear the click) the next step is to see if the cable is connected to the latch. Open your trunk and press the button - watch what happens. You may have to manually 'lock' the trunk with the trunk lid open to observe the action. You can always unlock this latch with your key if necessary.

Let me know what happens ... good luck

I am driving a 2006 Chevrolet Impala and there is a clicking noise coming from the dash area around the vents. It sounds as if a CD is stuck but there is no disc in the player.

The noise is coming from your blend door motor, you just need to replace it and it would go away. is not hard you can take the glove box off and you can see it and hear it at the same time there are two one closer to the center console and the other one is closer to the right kick panel. but you can see it them you take off the glove box. it's easy to replaced two screws and a guide stud.

Where is the keyhole on the trunk of a 07 chevy impala

it may not have one! A lot of newer cars dont. It might have a button on the keyless entry remote to pop the trunk if you hold the button down. otherwise ther is a button inside the car to pop it. either on the drivers door pannel, in the glove box, or in the left lower dash area.

Popping sound from near glove box in dash in 2008 Impala

This is the location of your BcM or Body control Mod. This controls all the things you are talking about. Lights, flashers, door locks trunk lock, that clicking you are hearing is a relay turning something on. So Lets say you are driving and it starts to get dark your BcM will change your driving lights to full night time mode, turning lights on, on your dash. Now you have Bright and dim functions. There is a sensor in the dash up front in the windshield that senses dark/light and does this. That is what you hear, a relay in your BcM clicking off/on some function of the car.

Trunk will open

fold down the rear seat and crawl to the back...there is a latch inside at the center of the trunk lid to open. All newer cars are mandated to have the inside release to prevent children from locking themselves in the trunk
