How to check fuelpump to see if its working
Turn on the ignition key and the pump should run for 5 seconds.Once you have cranked until the oil light goes out or the guage goes up the fuel pump should activate from that. There is a schrader valve at the back drivers side of the motor Hook up the schrader to a pressure guage turn on the key. If you don't get 51 psi initial pressure you are not going to start Also need 37 to 40 psi just for the motor to run
Check 12V at pump terminal when on/cranking
hear/feel pump operation (if external to tank)
if low pressure (carby) disconnect fuel line and observe flow. If high pressure (FI) connect fuel pressure guage and observe pressure. Check fuel filter while doing all this. Filters are the source of many problems that start people messing with fuel pumps.
