Take the battery off and fully charge it - get a hydrometer to test it - its pointless going on if the battery is the cause of the problem.

If the battery is fully charged and you put it back on and the dials are dead - you have a serious problem.

You could need a complete new dashboard assembly - I had a Renault where this happened and it was big bills time - a new dashboard.

In the old days rust killed cars - now faulty electronics kill them - a dash could be $750 or more an ECU to manage the engine could be more.

It might need a garage with the correct computerised test equipment to fully diagnose.

GOOD LUCK

A4 B6 2.5 tdi quattro 180 immobilised

Buy Galletto 1260 (or MPPS any version) to read and write the ECU, it's very cheap now.

You can than disable the immo in the flash memory file of the ECU with Universal immo decoder 3.2 and load it back on the car. Before you do that, make sure the checksum is correct on the modified file. Otherwise ecu will be bricked (but can be restored).

Electrical problem 1993 Audi 90 CS

The 1993 90 instrument cluster is very sensitive.  Even having bulbs out can mess it up.  You should consider replacing the ignition switch.  It is easy you can do it yourself, do NOT let Audi dealer's service tell you it's $500 to do it.  You can get the part for less than 30 bucks on ebay.  Undo the screws under the steering wheel, take off the plastic, take out the 2 screws on the instrument cluster, take out the cluster enough to see the ignition switch.  THis is the tricky part:  get a small screw driver and LOOSEN the small screws that keep the ignition switch in place.Replace.  Re-tighten, put it all back and you're done.
Ignition switch is EVERYTHING in this car.  Oh, do not by the switch with the pink plastic where the key would go, buy the WHITE.

1990 honda civic dx no lights on the instrument cluster, all fuses are good, dimer switch get no juice, it is a relay o something ?

The first thing you want to check is to see if the rheostat for the dash panel lighting isn't turned "off". There is a button on the instrument panel to the left of the steering wheel just below the gauge cluster corner. push the round knob in and it will pop out. when it does you can turn the knob to adjust the brightness of the dash lights.
