When you first start the car the fan motor does not run but when you turn the key more the car will crank but not start.

About a week ago the car started acting weird, the engine would start to die out and then pick back up. a couple of time the engine would start when you put it in reverse the car would stall. The car acts like it isn't getting enough gas at time but the fan not coming on when you first start the car makes me think it has to do with the electrical system ??????

SOURCE: my truck acts like it is starving for gas

Hi,
Replace the fuel filter as the fist action. Often this is charged for - but not done on a service, and if blocked will starve the engine. Just done mine after 3 years - would not believe the cr@p that was in it.

Try again.

If not much difference, check the fuel pump in the tank, and any cables to it.
If this fails, the engine needs to **** the fuel more - and can lead to starvation problems too.

Change the air filter every year, as this is cheap and will give you better MPG anyway.

have fuel injection system cleaned

SOURCE: Mustang stalls when trying to drive and will shut down

Measure fuel pressure on injector rail - should be 38 to 40 psi. If low or fluctuating, then replace regulator. Another possibility is the in-tank filter being clogged - rare I know, but trash in the gas tank and it's clogged.

Testimonial: "Your help was really appreciated and i did pull the fuel pump and come to find out it was the fuel pump itself lol thanks for your help"

SOURCE: My 1988 Ford Bronco 5.0 has been stalling / acting

You might have what is called vapor lock. The fuel gets so hot that it boils in the fuel pump or the lines. Do this test spay water on the fuel pump to cool it off . ( this only works for a few minutes before it gets to hot and vapor locks again ) If you can Keep the engine heat Off the lines and the Fuel pump it might help. If you have metal fuel lines near a heat source rap them with something such as rubber fuel line sliced down the middle to keep the heat off them If you are using an aftermarket electric fuel pump relocate it down low near the gas tank ( they work better pushing than pulling ) away from any heat source such as exhaust If your using the stock fuel pump try replacing it with a new one it might be getting weak Replace the fuel filter while your at it.

No spark wont start

99GC (no engine stated of the many) size is? and is it V6
got water where it dont belong, my guess power washer (100x worse)
so get it dry .
check fuses. first
then scan it, with OBD2 scan took, crank for 5 seconds. (at least)
RPM on the scan shows valid rpm over 250rpm ? good,
no, bad crank sensor (or soaked to bones)
then release key
then dont turn key off yet
got DTC'S? stored, during the crank,
like bad CKP bad CMP,. etc or dead RPM
bingo its telling you why no spark, believe it.

1993 p30 m0torhome no fuel pressure no prime with ignition in run position

The fuel pump only runs for exactly 1 second when the key is turned to the run position, then the computer shuts it off unless the engine is being cranked over with the starter or it is running of course. If you wish to prime the system repeatedly turn the key to run and then off again until engine starts while holding the accelerator pedal to the floor to help purge air from the injectors.

Car cranks then an hour later won't crank

Battery or starter. Sometimes the battery will have enough power to activate fuel pump and dash lights but not enough to turn starter.

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee cranks but won't start

Same thing happened to me at about 140k. It was the fuel pump. Best way to test if your pump is failing and loosing pressure is to see if the car will start immediately after it has been running, or turn the key to the alt position for a few minutes before starting. If your engine fires faster after it has been running or the key has been in the alt position you will probably need a new fuel pump. Great news is with a very deep socket to get the tank straps off its a 30 minute job to replace the pump/filter assembly.
