You can use one of the wires from either brake light and make yourself a good ground in trunk and running the two wires to you light switch. be careful where and how you run wires around the trunk hindges as you do not want them to become pinched and short out as that is a safety issue and get you pulled over. always solder and heat shrink all splices and wire to wire connections, if you dont you will hate your self later as wire from front of car to back of car could then need to be replaced.

Third eye brake light won't work and the buld is new. I've tried location the fuse and can't find on specifically for that, would it be tied to something else?

all of the brake lights are on the same fuse. If the other brake lights are working than the fuse is good.

If I remember correctly this third brake light is located in the trunk lid. I would suspect that there is a broken power or ground wire going to the socket for the bulb. The usually area for this to happen is where the wiring harness flexes when the trunk is opened and closed. I think the connector for the harness is in the same area and I'm pretty sure it is on the drivers side. Take a peak at the wiring in that area. you may have to remove some tape to get a good look. If there are wires broken than a simple repair should get it working again.

My rear spoiler lights will not come on when i press on the brakes?

There can be a faulty connection or break of the wire that goes to the light. This can be in the boot hinges harness as it can get damaged in this section.
If the tail brake lamps are workingg then the fault is only in this section as it is normally coupled to the tail brake circuit .So remove the lights and trace the wire down the harness to find the open wire.

I have a 2000 Dodge RAM 3500 with no lower brake lights. The turn signals work and the hazard lights work so the bulbs are good. The center high mounted stop lamp works but just in case I replaced the...

if the third brake light works then ther is a broken wire. start looking for it at the tail lights and work forward if you cant find the break you can always run a new possitive wire from either the third brake light to the tail lights or if the trailer wiring harness hase power to the brake lights you can splice in there as well. hope this helps

How to replace 3rd brake light on 2004 Chrysler Pacifica?

the 3rd brake light is mounted to the spoiler. you need to remove the spoiler from the liftgate to acces the mounting bolts and the wire clip. there are five points of attachment of the spoiler, four hex nuts (metric) and one snap clip. two are accessable when the liftgate is open, they are in the corners of the liftgate. two more are under the upper rear window interior trim. the interior trim is held on by snap clips. if you pry outward on the trim starting on the right side of the window and work your way toward the middle you will be able to gain access to the two other nuts. once you have removed all four nuts, then close the liftgate and remove the spoiler by lifting up to disengage the last attachment point (snap clip). you will then need to change the light by removing the two nuts and disconnecting the wire clip. re-instal is the opposite of above. make sure that the wire for the third brake light does not get pinched when installed. (mine was improperly installed from the factory and the wire was pinched and this may have been why there was an early failure of the light)

2005 Lincoln Ls 3rd Brake Light Wiring

The best way to wire a third brake light is to run the wire directly from the brake light switch on the side of the steering colum to the light. You will need a test light to find out what wire lights up when you push the brake pedal. Then you can splice into it when you run your wire to the rear light.
