Only runs rough, as if on 3 cylinders, sometimes.what else could it be?
SOURCE: replace spark plugs with plat core plug
Platinum plugs are NOT recommended for the Echo. The heat ranges are different. Put the right plugs in it (buy them from a Toyota dealer) and see if your problem vanishes. I get this quite a bit, customers put in new plugs, and it runs worse than it did before they changed the plugs. Note that ALL Toyota engines have a specific plug engineered for each engine. Platinums do not work unless the engine was designed for it. Same with iridium and NO Toyota runs well on the "split fire" plugs. If the problem persidts, change the coils around, see if the misfire "moves" to a new location, and you get a DTC P-0300, P-0301 and P-0302. If so, your coil pack may have failed, BUT, do the plugs first.

Change fuel filter, air filter and if that doesnt help check fuel pump pressure.
SOURCE: my mr2 is running lean and ive changed the oxy
Lean code , lean condition is always an interesting problem to solve, if you found a vacuum leak your job is done, but if you didn't the fun begins,
First if you have an engine scanner you have to write down a o2 sensor voltage or short fuel trim value your job is to change those numbers if the fuel pump is weak the trim value would be negative -7 or less, and the O2 sensor voltage would be less than .45. Remember this part is important A good O2 sensor reads more or less .45, and short fuel trim 0 little less, little more. less than .30 or less than -5 would be a lean condition. items to check (test) Fuel Pump Pressure more that 35PSI,
Vacuum leaks including open PCV, Throttle tube for deformation and cracks, map sensor/or maf sensor that would give you a code, Bad fuel.

If it has been awhile since you have had a tune up, thats what I would do first. My car did the same thing and a tune up fixed it. If your check engine light is on, try to get a code. That will pinpoint you in the right direction. If you need anything else, feel free to write back.
