Check that you have fluid in the master reservoir. Bleed air from the clutch system.

SOURCE: can t shift gears

loosen the bleed screw. Then check if you can press the pedal down.If you can you have to change the clutch Assembly. If you still find it hard to depress then the master cylinder needs to be replaced.Hope this was useful.

SOURCE: hydrolic clutche

try getting new boot, then bleeding, just like brakes, hopefully you just got air in the line, i think the bleeder screw is close to the line going into the tranny bell housing, driver side

SOURCE: clutch pedal stuck up

You have to replace the Slave Cyl. when you put on the new one you have to bleed it ..To get the air out of the new line.

SOURCE: are all the clutches on

Hi,

Not usually these models all had hydraulic master cylinders for the clutch, if there is a master cylinder next to the brake master cylinder then that will be the clutch master cylinder and it will be hydraulic.

Thanks

Jason

Clutch advice for 05 hilux seems to have no adjustments?

Have you tried bleeding the system. It is done in the similar way as bleeding brakes to remove air. If that doesn't fix it, it may well be in need of a new clutch.

Where can i locate to put tansimittion fluid in my 87 might max manuel clutch

first of all it takes clutch fluid or dot 3 brake fluid the resivoir is usually located on driver side under hood on fire wall should be up high & close to brake fluid resvoir it will be round & small after filling pump pedal up& down quickly until you get pressure then have someone else open bleeder valve down on side of bell housing while holding pedal down closing it back & repeat until pedal has good feel if this doesnt work then one or the other is bad the master cylinder or slave cylinder is bad & needs replacing good luck with this info

I have a 93 mighty max just replace the clutch throwout bearing and pressure plate --now the problem is i can not get the clutch to engage enough to shift gears-- i have taken everthing back off to...

Do you mean you can't get the clutch to DISengage? You need the clutch to disengage - 'unlock' the transmission input shaft from the flywheel - in order to change gears.
If you put the transmission in 1st gear and start the engine and the truck starts moving with the pedal depressed, the clutch IS engaged. I think you mean that you can't get it to disengage so you can stop without killing the engine, and can change gears without a lot of grinding.
If this is the case, check to see that the clutch cable or linkage (if you have mechanical linkage) is properly adjusted, or that you hydraulic lines and slave cylinder are bled if you have a hydraulically controlled clutch.

The clutch pedal at times gets soft and gear shift is hard I have to turn off the truck pump the pedal for a while, some times when it is in 4th gear is hard to gear down

I have a 92 toyota camry and had to have my clutch replaced & the switch a year ago I already know it's all hydraulic but now the clutch pedal feels spongy easy to push in I have to wait till the car warms up & the rpm's drop even in 90 degree weather & then it's still hard to shift into gear once I'm able to drive it around for a little while it seems to work fine, I called Firestone who done the clutch they said it COULD be the clutch master cylinder how could I be sure or what can I check to be sure of what it could be before I take my car anywhere to be fixed.

It feels like the clutch may be going out. It's starting to shift hard, and the clutch has to go at least 2/3 to the floor before it engages. The fluid levels are fine. Any suggestions

you may have a hydrolic clutch .. check for a master cylinder similar to the brake master cyclinder near the clutch pdl .. it may be low on fluid .. .. i am assuming you meant that the clutch had to be near the floor before DISengaging .. if its a mechanical hookup instead then there is an adjustment for that (free pedal adj)

if the adjustment is out of range then you could have a bad throwout bearing .. but usually they make noise when the go bad ..

No pressure clutch pedal goes straight to the floor 1988 holden r

If hydraulic actuated mechanism, loss of fluid, defective master cylinder or slave cylinder at the clutch. Missing pin or other part between slave cylinder and clutch arm. Loose or broken slave cylinder mounting. Missing pin or broken part between pedal and master cylinder. If mechanical linkage, look for broken components or missing pins at moving joints. If you tried to shift into gear with engine running, you may have damaged the transmission gears.

Clutch pedal too hard too push in 94 might max

Bad presure plate. The clutch is made up of two parts, the clutch disk and the presure plate. as the vehicle gets older the pressur plate can bend making it imposible to push the pedal in. This is very common if your vehicle has a clutch cable as compared to a hydrolic clucth but happens with both just the same. The solution is replace the clutch.
