First unhook the battery cable and wait 6 hours. If the battery is still charged when you hook it back up then start pulling fuses or relays. That car has so much electrical stuff it will take awhile to pin it down. One thing could be the seatcontrol box under the seat. It controls seat heat, power seats, memory seat. Do the power door locks work ok? A bad switch can drain the battery. How about rear leveling system. Leaky air shocks can make the pump run while the car is sitting. If you can't figure it out get a battery disconnect.

2001 Ford mustang battery dies raight away i got the battery checked it's good checked the alternator its good any i deas it sits for hours and its dead

First place I would look is the boot light . Is the switch properly adjusted to switch off the light when the boot is closed.. Remove the eart lead and put an ampmeter in the line and read the current draw . It will give some idea as to what may be still on

Battery keeps going dead

Does it go dead after sitting for a few hours? Once started and driven for several miles will it restart if the engine is shutoff? If the battery goes dead only after sitting for a while with the engine off, you probably have a bulb or some accessory that is draining the battery.

If i keep the negitive connecter on the battery it will go dead in a hour there is not a wire hooked up on the alternator but i dont know where it might go?

Even with the wire removed, are you saying it goes dead while driving or just sitting . if it goes dead wile driving then the alternator may not be charging the battery as you drive but if it goes dead while the car sits then there is a draw some where.
if you sent me the year make and model with the engine size and also let me know when it goes dead in 1 hour, while driving or car just sitting and i will help you solve the problem. good day

Truck runs rough after sitting for 6 hours or

Hi,

You have a blown head gasket, it runs rough because the coolant is leaking into the engine, and the water gushing out when you fill the radiator is a dead give away.

Sorry mate it has to be rebuilt.

Thanks

My battery gets drained every time I turn the car off for an hour or two

First thing to do is have the Battery tested. They will usualy do it for free at autozone or advanced auto, etc. If the battery has a dead cell it may start the car after sitting all night, or be dead in an hour. If the bat is good then you need to start checking for an electrical short.

I purchased a 1984 XJS. The battery went dead, so

any battery that sits has the potential to drain. when storing your vehicle, remove the negative terminal from the battery. this should aid in keeping the battery alive. excellent vehicle. enjoy driving it. by the way, make sure you get the proper battery for either the L6 or the V12 motor. it makes a world of difference in the long run.
