SOURCE: 2000 kia sephia clutch

this is a big job for someone who is not mechanically inclined but....here it goes go buy a new clutch new tranny fluid and a haynes manual at the auto parts store your going to have to drain and drop your tranny ... BUY THE CLUTCH WITH THE TOOL theres an alignment tool needed to align the plates n bearings start by pulling off both tires, brakes and both cv axels be sure to remove the intermediate shaft from the tranny on the passenger side (should come out with the axel passenger side only) so do yourself a favor and buy an impact gun with at least 500 ft lbs torque youll need it also have handy your 14mm 17mm and 19mm impact sockets and remember this job usually runs around 1,200 bucks at firestone also DO NOT remove the bolt in the middle of the front springs under the hood just the four around it and the will pop out no prob and wont need to be clamped remove the starter behind your engine its under the oil filter also if your new to this sorta thing its gonna take you about 3 days to do it buy the impact gun if ur in a hurry look at a pawn shop have your flywheel machined its going to be accessible and it needs it hope this helps dont forget the book which you should already have bought anyway its good for your torque specs which you will also need a torque wrench for the clutch also dont crack open ur tranny this isnt a honda

SOURCE: Clutch

There is a spring on the pedal up under the dash, if this has come undone then the pedal may not be able to come back up to the normal position. The spring connects directly to the pedal and to a bracket under the dash.

SOURCE: clutch is sticking

More than likely the slave cylinder on transmission is leaking,< Hydrolic plunger that atttaches to clutch yoke > or possibly the master cylinder that operates it,< plunger sticking >. inspect them to find source of problem. If the master cylinder is low on fluid then there is a leak and slave cylinder most likely source.

What did you do to fix the clutch fluid loss??? if it ran dry, you need to find out where it went. You will need to replace the clutch hydraulic master and slave cylinders.

How to change clutch master cylinder

Remove nuts holding master cylinder onto mount. Remove fluid lines carefully, bench bleed new master cylinder then install lines, install mounting nuts then bleed system again applying pressure to clutch pedal several times until no air is seen purging out.

I have a 1998 1.8L Kia Mentor and my clutch pedal won't sink to the floor but I can't get any gears.

There are 3 progressively difficult and expensive steps you can take. I have to assume that the Mentor is the same as a Sephia.
First: Check the level of fluid in your brake/clutch canister. It MIGHT have 2 separate canisters (like the 1995 Sephia.) But I doubt it.
Second: Check your hydraulic clutch cable and the unit at the transaxle. It may need to be bled.
Third (and most expensive): Replace your clutch and pressure plate. This is the most expensive as it requires removal of the engine.

I hope this helps you find the source of your difficulties.

Where is the clutch located in a 1999 kia sephia?

It is between the engine and the transmission, it is a huge job and not for an ametueer.

You need to bleed the lines with a special tool, contact the dealer on this.

How to replace cluctch in 1998 kia sephia

Any standard shift clutch requires removing the
entire transaxle on most vehicles & rear drive trans
on others

You can figure $700 to $1000 on most repairs

The flywheel needs to be resurfaced
That isn't always done, but should be
It should also be balanced & never is
The clutch assy should be balanced & never is
The clutch slave cylinder & throw out brg get replaced

So you see a lot of expense

I have changed my clutch on my kia sephia but he didn't have resistence at the pedal. I have bleed the systeme but always nothing and it have no escape.....

is there not a clutch cable on that model the adjustment is not right and if you have a slave cyl chances are the clutch was ok but the slave was no good so check for cable if none make sure that slave was bleed proper then you know slave no good to replace ps if positive and i mean positive the clutch installed was good, properly installed and the release bearning installed as well

I have a 99 Kia Sephia and it will not move in any gear the clutch seems to be engaging and disengaging but the transmission will not spin the wheels in any gear

It sounds like a bad clutch. It is the clutch if you can change gears with the clutch out and the engine running.

KIA Sephia clutch

No you don't, the plunger in the slave valve forces the fluid out.
