The key lock cylinder operates the ignition switch sometimes ignition switch is separate sorry I didn't find where ignition switch is located if the lock cylinder is plugged into it.
You should have a starter relay and starter relay fuse.
This diagram of starter circuit shows the clutch pedal switch in the circuit on an automatic should have the neutral safety switch in the circuit. This is for 95 Rodeo.

The Lock Assembly has 2 Clips on it for the KEY and for the Lock Lever and if the has Power Locks, the Clips goes directly into it. Getting the Lock Clips on for the KEY is the Tricky part but you can do it

The diagram I have attached is for the mechanical latch, but the process to open the hatch when you can't remove the interior panel with it closed it similar.

Can be issue with the switch.

You are going to need to replace the ignition switch

My son was missing with the valet parking key while I was driving. When we got home and tried to open the trunk it wouldn't. It also made this buzzing sound when I push on the trunk latch.

Most likely issue is the driver's door latch. You will have to remove the door panel to confirm. After removing the door panel, remove the J12 connector from the latch and use an ohmmeter to see if the unlock switch inside the latch is closing when the latch is unlocked. I have 07 Pontiac Grand Prix, the wrong key was inserted into the ignition the other day. Now when I try to use the correct key it will not insert completly in the ignition, goes in until last 1/4in of key. Im stuck, I bought the new lock cylinder but how do I get the old one out? I cant get the key to insert all the way so I cant get it to the "On" position, it will not turn at all. The key that was inserted in error is whole and nothing is missing it seems like there is something stuck. Any help would be appreciated...
