When you turn it to heat it will send a burst of heat but then pushes cold air. What needs to be fixed?

If you hear a gurgling noise then your coolant is low. Fill it up. Additionally if after you have filled and still no heat then your the heater core is clogged. Heater core replacement is a whole day job. You have to drop the whole dash and steering column to access. Youtube has a real good video that shows you how to do this as well as acess the hidden screws and bolts. Before you think of replacing you can unclog heater core and flush with garden hose. Heater core is on the left side of engine on fire wall. Look for 2 small hoses going into firewall off engine. I had a bad heater core and believe me its a big job. I took my time and did it in 2 days. One day to remove then next day to install. And while you are at it replace the climate door. Its only about 10 bucks. Hope this helps.

Check your antifreeze coolant level, its the easiest thing to fix and would create intermittent heater.

HEAT ONLY BLOWING WARM AIR ON PASSENGER SIDE

have someone check the driver's side temperature control doors, in behind the radio. there are two push rods attached to a plastic piece. the connector on one or both of these push rods, become unattached. leaving you with cold air. once that temperature door is closed you get hot air. passenger side still mixes, but not drivers. All or none for heat on Driver's side

1990 toyota 4runner heater is blowing cold air

could be your heater core, um try checking the heater assembly in the dash, something may have broke so the heat isn't being switched over, and it is staying on cold. Regularly check the fluids in the motor and top up as needed

I have a 2007 subaru legacy. it has 17000 miles im having a problem with heating.. when i turn the heat on only driver side blows hot. the pessenger side blows cold even when i turn it on to the winshield...

The air is mixed and routed inside the dash by some flaps. In your case the flap that regulates the mixing of hot and cold air for the passenger side is broken or stuck in the cold position.
The only way to fix that is to remove the dash , access the air system and fix the flap.

Heat only blows out briefly then changes to cold air

Heater core could be pluged up, try flushing it out, it could have sedament build up restricting flow into heater core. Also make sure its full of coolant.

Heat

Mine did the same thing. The quick fix is to turn the knob to the heat side, then push gently on the knob itself. You'll instantly feel the air get warmer. The real fix entails taking the dash apart.
