2002 Lancer 2002 A/C won't kick in at hot weather temperature during the Summer in Texas. It works perfectly at cooler temperature such as morning or cloudy day. The A/C also work while engineer is hot within the safe range just not at the hot weather during the summer afternoon such as 95F and above. I am aware of the recall about the Fan controller and PCV chip refresh. Dealer told me they have done that and ask me another $1600 to replace A/C compressor, condenser.... after they charged me $100 for the A/C service. I wonder if the problem is the A/C switch or any thing I might be able to take care of within $100 budget? Any expertise is appreciated.

Okay, here are a few possibilities. First, they do make a High performance freon and carry it at Autoparts stores. Second, moderation. All A/C systems have a low pressure cutoff switch and a high pressure cutoff switch. You want to stay below the high limit. Freon is a gas and will generate more pressure when the outside air is hotter. The switches run $20 to $40 each. It may be possible to change to different pressure numbers without blowing a hose. You old switches could be weak.

I want to replace the original carb on my 75 MGB with a weber, should I use a water, manual or electric choke weber carb ??

It depends on where you live really. Let's say you live in Texas, the fall and winter mornings can be bitterly chilly...but by noon be hot as heck. During the summer it is hot always. If it were me I'd use a manual choke in southern areas. or if I were in Michigan I'd probably use a electric choke. I actually say that because manual chokes in a place like Michigan will get stiff, rusty or freeze without proper maintenance and shielding. I lived in Alaska and Cheyenne Wyoming and noticed in Alaska that cable chokes and linkages would bind up in extreme temperatures. But when all else fails try the Weber Electric choke.

Why will my 2002 dodge intrepid start perfectly in cold weather, but not in hot weather, or as the temperature rises during the day? Priscilla TravisBefore it would only start in cold weather, and not

Could be the neutral safely switch is still not adjusted properly. With your foot on the brake and the transmission in neutral, move the shifter a little bit in either direction while holding the key in the start position. If the starter engages, the switch needs to be adjusted.

Same happening here

I have a '03 Lancer that had the exact same problem. I pretty much had it down to a formula based on temp., humidity, cloudiness, etc. as to when the AC would work or not. I took it to a couple of shops and they couldn't figure it out. I finally took it to the dealer and they quoted about $1000 to fix, said "no way." Anyway, it turns out that both the AC clutch coil and AC thermostat needed replacing. I found a shop that fixed me up for less than $350. Works like brand new again. Hope that helps and good luck.

What oil type

Go with the shop manual's recommendation - it's put out by the manufacturer. If they list different viscosities for cold vs warm weather, you may benefit by following that if you live in a climate with cold winters (ie, 5W30 in winter, and 10W30 in summer).
