1997 ford ranchero outback heat gage not on hot but cuts out starter

Didn't find 97 ranchero in US automotive database. Is this a US vehicle? I looked for wiring diagram? I'd have to check starter motor wiring circuits and make sure engine isn't trying to seize when it gets hot or starter motor.

OK heres another one on same Cherokee....back flushed the heater core...changed thermostat and still blowing lukewarm heat... 3 people said sounds like a cracked head or head gasket but wouldn&#39

you are air locked in the heater core you will have to remove one heater hose and fill anti freeze into that hose until coolant runs out of the open nipple then put hose back on fast top off coolant start engine run til both hoses are hot for heater core..if only one is hot coolant is not circulating

My Hyundai sonata is overheating what can be the problem is wasn't like this up til now.

Sounds like it might have leaked out all of the coolant and you might have cooked the engine.

2007 Pontiac G6 GT radiator fan keeps running after engine is turned off. Runs for another 4-5 mins after engine is turned off.

Heat sensor keeps blowing air thru radiator until it cools, then cuts off. Some auto do this. If it bothers you let the engine idle a few min. after you drive it and then turn car off. When you drive your car and the engine is hot it heats up even more when you turn it off because the water has quit circulating. The fan will run til it cools. It's supposed to do that.

Runs fine til the temp out gets hot enough then dies. Wait ten mins and it will start again and run for a few mins then dies again

you didn't say if it was hot on the temp gauge? no matter, it sounds like you have a stuck t-stat. when the engine is cold, a mechanical valve keeps the water from coming out of the engine block until warmed up, then opens and lts the cooler water in. this cools down the engine and the colder temp of the water shuts the valve again. this happens constantly while the engine runs, and if your t-stat is stuck, the engine heats up the water in the block, but with nowhere to go, simply overheats the motor. a good repair book will locate the thermostat housing for you and should you the repair procedure. (i assume you have checked the water in the rad. low water will give you same symptoms). good luck.

No heat

start at the begining.  Run vehicle til radiator hoses are hot.  then check the heater hoses, two smaller and thinner looking radiator hoses near the firewall entering the vehicle.  Hold the hoses with your hands from the engine compartment,  if both of these hoses are getting hot, then you have a blend door problem, where it may be stuck in the cold position.  if they are not too hot to hold then the issue is with getting the water hotter. such as a thermostat.  try this and keep me posted.
