SOURCE: Changed the MAF in 97 Grand Marquis. Car still
you have a little screen just under the pcv valve that get clogged up on those years, look to the rear of the engine on top , look for a hose that connects to the pcv valve (you may want to get a chiltons manual) take out the pcv valve then remove the screen that is under it, so it can breath again this will be a tremendous help to you.
(don't forget to replace the pcv valve)
SOURCE: 97 grand marui rattling noise sounds like marble
The first place you need to start is with an oil pressure gauge. Rattling marble sounds come from engine components that don't have proper lubrication. What happens is when your engine is cold and you fire it up, the oil is really thick. The hotter the oil gets, the thinner it gets. If there is a problem with the oil pump, it will not draw heavy oil, but as it thins out, it becomes easier for the pump to pull it.
So my advice is to get your oil pump tested. That would be a smart first step.
SOURCE: '97 Grand Marquis needs a new Oxygen Sensor
its simple to do. just unplug the sensor and unscrew it. if its frozen and hard to break loose, then just heat the base the part of exhaust that it goes into.
SOURCE: 97' grand am starts and stalls ,fuel pressure ok
I'd go with replacing the fuel filter, especially if it hasn't been replaced. It should be replaced every 12,000-20,000 miles. I would check the fuel pressure also. These 2 items are not monitored by the computer.
